This phone cant do the most basic shit. Such as:

-SHUT UP the "send" and "receive" text messages on NOT silent
-Vibrate on NOT silent and DONT vibrate on SILENT

normal, BASIC, shit a phone should do, it cant, but it can tell me where i find the nearest whatever... F this.

going back android.

Actually, it can do all those things. Really simple settings that take about 1/2 a second to find. The iPhone 4S --- YOUR DOING IT WRONG!!!

sent and receive SMS sounds when the messages app is open cant be disabled.

vibrate can be set in settings/sounds. theres two vibrate settings. top one is for silent. one down lower is for ringer.

Step 1
Press the "Home" button on the bottom of the iPhone to turn the screen on. Slide to unlock if necessary.

Step 2
Tap the "Settings" icon and choose "Sounds."

Step 3
Slide the On/Off switch to "Off" under the Silent heading to turn off vibrate completely if desired.

maybe you should get an android if you cant figure out how to do that.

I'm on my fourth iPhone.. without a doubt as far as I am concerned still the best cell out there... for size, capabilities, and ease of use no other phone out there compares.. jmho.. and I have had no issues with hooking it to my e90.. the bluetooth works fabulous.. the bar graph (cell service) on the radio is great... and I just use a high end 3.5mm adapter with no volume control and I swear the sound quality is just a good as CD's coming from my music on the iPhone... almost like apple made the phone just for me

And yes your iPhone can def do all those things you mentioned, and couldn't be much easier to find... put some time aside to sit down and really surf through your iPhone as its the only way to become fully aquainted with all its abilities.. oh and pairing it to your BMW couldn't be much easier either... haha... I googled "pairing iPhone to BMW" 10 minutes after leaving the dealership with my car... had it set up in a matter of moments....
