BMW's M Division is vehemently against active steering.

LOL..no kidding....God forbid what all the "proceder's" are going to do when they have to actually take their car into a turn.

My PROcede v2 335i handles well enough for me (plus I have better traction with my Mich. PS2 tires). According to the car mag tests, the 335i pulls 0.89g on the skid pad, which is fairly decent, imho. Plus, I don't track my car or drive 120mph into a sharp turn anyhow.

If you'd like to race your 330 against a 335 V2 on a track course...let me know. Would love too...
If not...please STFU!

It sure is fun watching the fireworks in threads like this one...

Winter sucks, Instead of possibly crashing trying to make my 335xi go 0-60 in X.XX maybe I will have some fun doing doughnuts in the snowy parking lot in my '68 MG

Be careful you don't hit a snow bank while doing your doughnuts in the parking lot; I vaguely remember doing that once while driving in one of my friends mother's Ford Escort Station Wagon POS...those older cars don't exactly have airbags you know.

Sorry...I meant to say any car that is missing the third pedal is

And to answer your question -- yes, I have driven but not owned the SMG car. Nothing impressive, nothing bad...

So I guess you'd turn down a Ferrari with the F1 Paddles then? Personally, I like MT's just for the short-term thrill and fun, but I'll probably never drive one again in my lifetime.

Having the 'best of both worlds' with these new super-fast shifting ManuMatics or 'DSG-type' dual clutch trannies (without the manual clutch) is just pure pleasure, imho. Look at what's currently out and what's coming...the Nissan GT-R with dual clutch tranny with paddle shifters (no MT offered), the E92/E90 BMW M3 with a new dual-clutch tranny with paddle shifters coming soon, etc. Which way do you think things are moving...forward to this tranny platform or backward to the MT? To each his own, I guess.

and I did expect a comment -- "backward to MT" from you
Same as going backward to V8 instead TT + Procede...

Anyway...drove the AT on 335, it was nice, smooth and...boring, and definitely not worth extra $1k or whatever they wanted...

If you the man that you claim you are you would ask BMW for the manual tranny with no synchro-meshs..... You love the third pedal so much you can double-declutch to your heart's delight

could not sell any with SMG?

you're crazy man. they only released it in MT so that they would stop getting shit for all the magazines and maybe gain a small increase in sales, but the vast majority is still SMG... by a long shot.

Add the PROcede v2 and you won't think it's so boring with the Paddle Shifters...ha ha. Anyway, as I've said before, for the amount of miles I drive each year, an MT with clutch leg cramps just isn't the best idea. Personally, I LOVE the ManuMatic (especially the 335i's ZF 6AT with 100ms shifting ) and drive everyday with my Paddles...and guess what? I'm no less of a car enthusiast or a man, and I still get there faster than most.

I wish you and everyone a very safe and Happy New Year!
