2011 M3 Vert vs newer looking Audi S4
Some clown tried to mess with me today...kept revving his engine, with these annoying bee hive exhaust cans sticking out from behind his souped up S4 at a stop light. I tried ignoring him, but then got annoyed. Light turns green, he misses the quick shift (must have had a 6 speed), I have the DCT, in "5" setting, and walked away from him like he's standing still. next light, he gets his start shift better, but I still crushed him till 65, and then I slowed down. He then quickly made a left turn with his tail between his legs.
I am a 44 year old father of two...man, this car is fun! M3 power baby... |

Ya because of the DCT. Put a qualified driver in the S4 and I'm sure the outcome would have been different... The new S4's are no joke, especially w/ a tune.

The advantage for the Audi is out of the hole with the AWD, but in the end, the S4 is heavier, and down on power and the M3 will walk right by. I'm not saying the S4 is a bad car, in fact it is a great car, I'm just being realistic and not brand biased. I'm not hating on Audi or anything, I traded in my 09 A5 S-Line for the M3, and I still have an 08 TT 3.2 Quattro.

lol I meant to write capable, give me a break it was 3 am.
I'd love to see an e93 walk away from my S4.... e90/2 is a different story, but the e93 is a DOG.

ha....e93 is certainly no dog, and especially not with the DCT tranny. I came out of an '08 997S, and this car is world's better. I'm sure that with the proper tune, and someone the knew how to properly drop a clutch on a start it would have been closer. I have respect for the Audi brand, as my business partner has an R8...that machine is amazing. For me personally, a) I just find that the S4 (and most all other audi models) are "blahh" looking, and b) like the inifiniti g37, are driven by people that are just as described in the OP.
I'd take any version of an M3 or Porsche anyday over an audi, price no object....for the record, what's a measly .02 seconds in 0-60 when I can put down the top 10 months out of the year....priceless bud. Last edited by cole328; 12-29-2010 at 06:25 AM.. |

And yes, I don't mean to offend anyone because for it's weight the E93 is a great car, but compared to the E90/2 it's a dog. http://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/b...abrio_e93.html 2 full seconds slower 0-200kmh is a biggggg gap.

No worries bro...no offense taken. Its cool that you have both. As I said, I love the Audi technology and fit and finish. I just wish they'd make the styling a but more aggressive. They bring back the RS5, and I'm all over it for my next car. Drive safely

Eh, the RS5 is definitely beautiful, but it's gonna be too GT for it's price range. Thanks bro, you do the same

2011 S4 beat 2009 M3
Don't get me wrong. I have always admired the M3 and almost bought one. But wasn't dazzeled comparing it to my Vett. The S4 just seemed to ride better. I think the idiot salesman never showed me the power button. Without that button engaged, the M3 was sluggish compared to the S4.
I raced a 2009 M3 and beat the pants off him. By the way, he engaged the power button. We were both surprised because we were sure that I would lose. I must admit my mods were better than his mods. What gave me the edge was the Awd. The race was about 1/2 mile. The distance was 5 car lenghts. I also races a 2012 Mustang GT and won as well. This car has the same stats as the M3. Racing a Camaro SS was like taking candy from a baby. In conclusion, I still think the M3 is a better looking car than my S4, but the M3 will need an ECU mod to keep up with me in the 1/4 mile. That's if it can grip. My next car of choice is a GTR instead of the M3. Until then, I will admiring the M3. S4 mods: STAStis ECU, awe intake and exhaust. |

The S4 is an extremely capable car and considering its weight handles itself quite well on the track with the sport differential.
Hell for less than the price of my exhaust on my M3 look at what this guy dyno'd on his S4... http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/454766-dyno-day-results The track day I brought it too I had. I problem passing e90 model M3's with them having better tires and brakes as I was totally bone stock on the S4 with very crappy tires. With my S-tronic tranny I would laugh at a convertible M3 if it tried to race me from a stop. P.S. to the guy saying his convertible M is better because he can take the top down is a win ...lol that made me laugh. Both cars are excellent cars I just find it funny with all the Audi haters and BMW haters I see on both forums. I personally don't give a crap about brand as long as I enjoy the car. I'm actually starting to love American cars more now (always loved the Z06) like the mustang boss 302.
