recommendation for a shop to have an exhaust installed...

try martin motorsports, it's right off of pickett street. the do lots of work on bmws.

have you had work done there before? I'm also looking for 3rd party shop to perform routine maintenance on M3.

I have. Had a passenger seat airbag mat installed and a few other things. Gary is reasonable. He's an interesting character too.

IMA motorsports in Chantilly is a good shop as well as Funktion out in Sterling.
