Which DCT tune?

Hi guys

I'm sure this has been debated before... But I can't find a straight forward answer.

Wish to get a DCT tune but dunno which one to get?
BPM seems to be the priciest... Is there a reason for it being more expensive than ESS or Evolve DCT tunes?

Which one's the best or are they pretty much the same?

My car's mechanically all stock but planning on getting the BPM or ESS tune later..

Thx

BPM seems to win on customer service alone.

I have nothing to compare it to other than stock, but I absolutely love the DCT tune that I got from Mike at BPM. I didn't think there was much room for improvement over the stock DCT software, I only upgraded since Mike was working on my car anyway. I was pleasantly surprised when I took the car out for the first time with the BPM software. Amazing.

I'm running the BPM stage 2 engine tune, but the Dinan DCT tune. Very happy with both. BPM customer service has been top notch. Dinan customer service is not great. For whatever it's worth, my dealer was not able to successfully flash the Dinan DCT software when the BPM was installed. The Dinan DCT program had to be flashed first, and then BPM.

The Dinan DCT flash only cost me $225. A noticeable improvement in clutch engagement from a dead stop, downshifting, upshifting (faster) and overall smoother in Drive mode. Also, you notice quicker reverse engagement.

BPM DCT will allow you to flash yourself and switch between stock, EURO, and tuned.

i think i remember reading somewhere that if someone had a tune from you and the dealer wiped it doing warranty work that you re-program for free/small fee. is that accurate?

Customers with the tune can reload it with their BPM cable in 5 minutes

I went with BPM DCT tune and have never looked back since

I've had several different OE DCT software over the years, from stock to GTS, as well as euro stock version, compared to those I felt BMP's DCT tune is just much more refined. For a non-track car that I have fun with on the streets, overall the shifts are just that much smoother in all driving modes.

The car/tranny also jerks very little when you coast down to a stop, which is a big plus for me in street driving; personally I think Mike's tune handles this aspect much better than the GTS or the Euro software.

And like many above have mentioned, top notch customer service...

The smoother downshifting may persuade me to go with BMP.

+1. My exact set-up too except I paid $150 for the Dinan DCT tune when it was on sale (when they use to have sales but that's another thread). Highly recommended on both. Also agree about customer service. BPM is great and Dinan is not so great.

I used Alex @ Alpine, no complaints thus far.

I have not dealt with BPM but I will say:

BPM, Alex and AA will be the only ones getting my business as long as I own this m3, based off of customer service alone.

DCT Tune

I just had Alex at Alpine put his DCT tune on my 09 M3 last weekend.

It is day and night over what the factory had installed.
For the first time I can put the car in drive and it selects the proper gears.

It fixed a lot of the issues where at low rpms the shifting was very lazy.

In M mode manually shifting it will now chirps the tires into 3rd gear. I run 265/30/19 Advan AD08R up front 275/35/19 rear, those are sticky tires to chirp into 3rd.

Downshifting it matches rpm's better, I don't feel a downshift coming into a corner, just hear it in the rpm's going up.

I am really impressed and pleased with the tune.
