AW...swirls far less noticeable...black looks great but you become the car's bitch...wash and wax every 2 weeks...my last 3 cars were black..i finally gave up with the M...first yr or 2 black is awesome..then u start to get lazy and dont wash it every week like u used to when its brand new..then u regret getting black in the first place

but if u buying a merc...E and above...u have to get black

AW is very very nice. Must clean bugs from the hood after evening drives. Very nice car.

My dealer says black doesn't hold up over time. But my Z4 is black and after 3+ years it still looks hot. Then again, I have a white M3 E93 ordered, so I'm no help.

jet black, cause thats what I'm getting. Never had a black car, I figure its time for me to suffer. I don't see what the trend is with black rims though, I think the shiny zcp rims are sexy, and the contrast with black is money.

Do0d bro, I currently have a 2005 M3, Jet Black to be exact. I murdered the fock out of it and over time, granted it still turns heads and is a jaw dropper, I am done with black cars for a while. It is one hell of a PITA to clean and plus if you dont want to wash your car every 5 minutes, go with another color, TRUST ME or... well... hell you probably already know this. I would suggest getting white but then again, that's another can of worms... same delima if you ask me. White will show more black imperfections. I would suggest getting another color but then again, to each his own! Have at it!

My last car was black. Amazing when clean, but it's only clean for 15 minutes.

I went Melbourne Red (wanted something different) and I'm actually pleasantly surprised that it stays fairly clean. I can actually go a week or two without washing my car for once.


If I had to choose between JB or AW, I'd go AW.

I was first looking at black too.....but the more I saw alpine white....

If you are going for the carbon roof what really swayed me was the black carbon roof looks better on AW. On black it looks grey and sort of out of place IMO.

So true, this should be a sticky. My last car (335) was JB. It prctically swirled itself on the ride home from the dealer

Totally. I've got SSII and love it, but when I see a SG, I'm like "holy crap!!" The color is classy and has tremendous depth.

SG is definitely good too..if u dont want AW and JB, then that choice is right in between....same goes for the amt of work you gotta put into it as well....wont have to wash and wax as often as black, but still gotta maintain it more than AW.

but i do think that the unique lines and curves and CF roof show up best in white....there is a reason that BMW choose AW for their brochure and website image gallery...cuz it simply shows off the car the best

AW. It just looks better in person to me. Never mind the nightmare that it is to take care of..It wouldnt bother me as I take very good care of my cars. Again,AW just looks the best to me....well besides sparkling graphite metallic.

Coming from a Jzb E90 to a AW E92, I prefer the AW much more. Shows off the lines of the car way more.
