Drive one, hell I barely saw one before I got mine. I had a E36 M and knew the E92 was going to be awesome. BMW does not F around when it comes to their M division.

I had no inkling that I would purchase the "new M3." My onetime SA and now SM called me and invited me to do a test drive. I did so and really did not fully appreciate the car. My tuned 335 was (is) a torque monster and I was not able to really get the most from the M. When I went home my wife said "Well, did you buy one?" I said I really hadn't seriously considered purchasing one and she said "If you want it you should as you get so much pleasure from your cars." Three test drives later and a decision from my brother in law to buy my 335 and I ordered an M3 DCT. Very happy, and I still get to drive the 335 when I want to.

I didn't. I would recommend it before such a big investment. I also recommend it because of the unique feel of the drive. I could see it NOT being for everybody. I love that Car !!!!

I test drove both a 6MT M3 and a DCT M3 and got the 6MT, very happy with my choice!

I would not have bought the car without having a test drive first. Especially given the amount of ££££'s I was spending!

In the end I had 3 test drives (all in different conditions) to make sure it was the right car for me and it most definitely was!

Yeah.. I knew I'd love the new M3.. then I test drove on Saturday last week.. Well, they tried to put me in a convertible DCT M3 first.. I said, "no no fellas, I am a driver not a poser".. They quickly pointed me in the direction of an e92 6MT and I quickly fell in love. Seriously, try a standing start in M Dynamic mode.. redline 1st and 2nd.. you'll be blown away!!! That sound is amazing!

Way to abuse the demo car.

I took a test drive in an e92 6MT in Houston. I think the CA had some bad burritos for lunch because he kept sweating and emitting small squeaks as we attempted some four wheel drifts on a few of the Allen Parkway cloverleafs. I was on business in Toronto and had a chance to drive a business cohort's broken in DCT. I was F*ing hooked.

I've always wanted one of these beasties, but after driving one it was all over but the buying. The only additional thing I would recommend is trying the European Delivery option.

I test drove an 08 Coupe 6MT. Was not broken in so could not really beat on it.

But took the one off the showroom floor that day after the test drive!

My dealer just threw me the keys and told me to have fun, so I picked up my girlfriend and we went for a spirited (but under 5500rpm) canyon cruise.

At that point, there was no going back. It had been 2 years since I'd had an M-car.

I was pretty well set on buying an e92 335xi in Montego blue, and I went for a test drive in the M3. Well the rest is history. Besides Interlagos looks better anyways.

Owned a 335 and test drove an MT E92 M3. Ordered one after the test drive but changed it to an M-DCT (didn't do any DCT test drive).

I test drove both the 6MT and the DCT coupes, but then ultimately went with the 6MT E90.

Tested an M3 coupe for 4 days but didn't have a chance to test the vert with DCT before I had to confirm my order..... it arrives in a few weeks so I'm still hoping DCT will not be a big mistake!

I test drove the dealer's launch E90 M3. I would not consider purchasing without first driving.

I test drove two: An AW, and a Space Gray. I felt the Space Gray was both slightly faster and better handling, so I bought that one.
