Some guy drops the V10 into the new M3...

Wow. Nutso. You'd think 414bhp would be of "ample sufficiency".

Nyet. Nien. Non. Nay. I wonder what the weight distribution ended up to be - I'm guessing BMW's 50:50 was somewhat compromised

Nice install, though. Crazy fast, I'm thinking!

My question is, though - where the hell did he source a NEW M3 to work on??

What colour do you guys think this is? Sparkling graphite? I kinda like it, after being completely sold on Jerez Black until now.

No M3

This seems to be an incredible machine, but just for the info:

This car is not based on an M3. It is the regular coupe that has been modified.

Best regards,

CSL

How is that? The article even references the fact that it is an M3. If it is a regular coupe and he modified it then he spent more in mods than if he had just bought the M3.

Not sure about what this is based on. The hood, roof, and the front fender seem like M3 parts. But then the tack only goes to 8000. How did they get a hold of M3 body parts?

Yeah, the tach with a 7k redline is a dead giveaway. Could be the aftermarket is knocking off M3 parts already, or this guy has great connections. Color looks like Space Grey?

But the SMG transmission has a lower red line than the manual. I am not sure by what measure but the last M3 I test drove was an SMG and I noticed the red line was lower than mine. Can't remember how much though.

If someone can read the spec plate on the inside of the car door we can resolve the question. The model of the car will be in the bottom left of that plate. I don't have any high res imaging software on my PC to clean up the image.

I tried, but the resolution is not good enough. The answer is here, just an E92 coupe: http://www.bremgo-shop.de/_plentyMar...3-V10/p-182-0/
