Fitment Issue: Macht Schnell stage 2 intake

Please advise if you had a similar issue or suggestions.

I have a Macht Schnell Stage 2 intake system. The factory elbow which connects the factory style airbox to the radiator/fan, constantly pops out of alignment. The connection is compromised and air escapes. I have adjusted the elbow with a flathead but the problem continues.

Thinking to loosen all bolts holding the intake and readjust the connections while adding few clamps. The factory did not use clamps on that elbow so I doubt it needs it.

Other option is to buy a new oem intake elbow that maybe will be firmer since the stock has 52k on it .

Did you buy the intake used? There was an issue with the early ones and they have been fixed. Contact EAS and see what they can do for you.

The Macht Schnell Stage 2 intake replaces the factory elbow with an aftermarket elbow. I have been running one for 3 years with no issues. It is not a flawless, perfect, factory level fit, but it is not bad and there are no leaks. Make sure the airbox is installed correctly, the correct filter holder spring assembly is being used in the box, and the factory feed to the front grill intake is properly installed.

If money was no object, I would buy a Dinan. It looks like it is a little better made.

I eventually sold my MS intake for a Dinan because of this reason, way better fitment...it fits like an OEM unit.

Did you pull the spring out in the intake box? That helps a TON

I am confused. There is no MS intake box. Only MS elbow and filter and couplings and scoops. Factory box, factory connection from kidney grille area to box.

One problem with that. That I've learned the hard way is that small rubber elbow at the bottom of the pic is supposed to be on the outside of the intake box. You set that rubber elbow, then put the bottom half of the intake box in with it inside the elbow then maneuver the top half into the elbow as well
