Bird smashed into lower grill

Besides replacing with an OEM piece, what other options are out there?

Bird was jammed in there, cracked the thing open and pushed it back. Pretty gross.

Check to make sure the oil cooler was not damaged behind the grill. Just replace with OEM parts.

You could paint the grill. Some people have done them in gloss black. Looks pretty nice, although will show dirt easier. If you want to make a custom one, mcmaster-carr sells extruded aluminum grills in a variety of sizes, designs, etc.

I'm not aware of any aftermarket replacements, but they are probably out there.

I was probably going 110 when this thing swooped down. I saw a few feathers fly up and knew I hit it, was worried it went into the brake ducting...

I am surprised there is no aftermarket replacement for that grill. IMO the stock piece looks cheap. Audi tuners make a ton of grill parts that improve the look. Having said that, I'm not quite sure what would look better and blend with the car.
