Live Steaming Driveway (Garage) Brake Pad Swap
This may be a total failure. Installing PFC08's on all 4 in my garage. Entertain yourselves at my expense here:
Take 1 took a freaking hour for the passenger side rear. Live stream take #2, here: Added the front install, too, for anyone interested:

Love the PFC08 pads. I swap mine out pretty regularly. Here are some suggestions:
1) Get an impact wrench for the lug bolts. Much quicker to take off and put back on. 2) Use a set of large channel locks to get the rear anti-rattle clip off. Just put one jaw in the small indent in the middle and the other jaw on the caliper and it comes right off. Front comes off by hand for me. 3) This sounds silly but count the number of 1/4 turns it takes to get the caliper guide bolts completely loose (should be around 40) That way, you're sure and don't have to get the wrench out again when it won't come off.. 4) Use a long screw driver between the caliper and carrier to retract the pads. All these little things add up. First time I did my pads, it took me over 2 hours for just the fronts. Now it takes me just over an hour for all four. |

Nahhh. It's high mileage daily driver - don't care for it to look pristine. I would like a set of EC7's or something, though.
