Anyone have the document for the 09 and or 2010 military pricing? I have been searching for it on here but cant seem to find it. I have the pricing of the 08 but that doesnt do me any good. Looking to go from my 135i to m3 when I go to Afghan in a few weeks. Thanks.

Looks like the 2010 production is almost done. 2011's will come out with March 2010 production. If you didn't order yet, you most likely won't be able to get 2010 anymore. 2010 pricing won't do you any good.

Best way is to email military sales directly. They will provide you with the price lists. PM for their email address.

Contact Dave at dave@superiormotorsmsp.com. That's who I ordered through, and I couldn't have been happier. They are a real class-act.

Pentagon Car Sales also has military pricing... I've been looking to order a '10 model and have the pricing sheet if you still need it.
FYI, military prices are prohibited from being posted online. Julie can also help you out with any pricing info if you need it. She's helped me out quite a bit... julie.hutchinson@pentagoncarsales.com Hope this helps. |

There's no time requirement. You just have to be on overseas orders at the time the order is placed.

I could swear there was a TOS requirement. If not, then all the better as I'm sure it'll generate a LOT more sales for them. Just make sure state sales tax (if applicable) will have to be paid. I know for CA if you bring the car into the state w/in 90 days of purchase from an overseas sales you have to pay sales tax on it to register it.

You may have to pay the import duty tax if is not registered in USAEUR too. Not sure on that one, but heard that this tax may come up, if not registered for 6+ months prior to shipment.
I did get to skip the gas guzzler tax.

For the most part, you need to have the car registered outside the US for 140 days to avoid paying the federal import tax (2.5 percent) when you return to the US (and you want to have a decent number of miles on the odometer as well, at least 500-1000). You may still have sales tax at the state level (depending on where you live). Not sure about the gas guzzler.
But the question asked was about whether you can buy the car with military pricing in the first place and I believe the answer is yes, if you are on orders outside the US (including while on a USN ship)...and even if you are a DoD civilian (while on orders). Basically the only time you cannot take advantage of this deal is while you are in CONUS. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it wasn't for the sales and gas guzzler tax break, it'd be less expensive to do an ED.

If you're having to deliver the car to the states, you pay GGT. No getting away with it since the dealer collects it.
Sales tax depends on the state you register the car. I didn't have to pay the Sales tax, but did pay GGT.

I hate it when the dealer walks away w/ free money.
I'm trying to find out the best way as well to order my M3 before I head back to the states. I know that I'm probably gonna wait till March to see what comes to fruition, but we shall see... |

If you are stationed OCONUS, then you do not pay GGT if you have owned the car for over 140 days like someone said above. If you are deployed only or TDY for over 90 days, then you do pay GGT since you wont take the possession of the car until you come back.

GGT gets paid to the overseas dealer that you buy the car from, i.e. Superior, Pentagon, First Choice, etc., not the delivery dealer. I took delivery in KS, and literally walked in and got in the car and drove off.

That must be the case when you order through military sales, but take the delivery in US. If you order and take the delivery in OCONUS, there is NO GGT or sales tax, that is one of the perks of taking delivery in Europe when stationed here. By the way, all those military sales companies are German-owned, and should not be collecting US tax.

GGT is linked to delivery site and Uncle Sam is sure to get that money. As you did state, it is not collected when the car is delivered in Europe and remains there for the previously define amount of time. Another savings for me!

This GGT thread is interesting cuz I ordered my car while stationed overseas last year...went to Munich Jun 09 and picked it up...had BMW ship it that same month...PCSed in Jul 09...then picked it back up at the Georgia port in Aug (not a BMW dealership, only owning it a month before shipping & about 800mls on it). I have never paid any GGT, and for that matter, never paid any state tax cuz I have been lucky enough to move to a state that allowed me to register my cars as a non-state resident. These are all benefits of being in the military. You'll need to look into your specific situation. Matt Hemmer at Pentagon near Vogelweh was the one that helped me out in getting my car here and understanding what was gonna happen...he was/is a great help.
Good luck.

I confirmed with Pentagon MS and there is no GGT if you take the delivery here in Germany, Italy or wherever else they have branches in Europe.
