Weird combo of codes 002B43 & 0027C1

M3-ers,

Have an interesting (to me) situation. Yesterday the Service Engine light came on for my 09 M3.

The Carly BMW code scan showed two codes which would not clear:
002B43 misfire cylinder 2
0027C1 Info tank empty at fault entry

Car has ~89k miles.

I did some searching and did not find much that has this combination, and those that did all seemed to affect an entire bank and often were associated with a recent fill up of the gas tank. These codes appeared when I was on about 1/8th of a tank (so before a fill up).

I did, coincidentally, fill the tank afterwards, and the codes are still present.

Was going to mess around with the plug connection(s) on cylinder 2 and see if there is something that is maybe a bit loose.

Any other ideas? Am about to have the air assembly off while I replace the passenger side valve cover gasket (waiting on parts to arrive with the epically slow shipping from FCP) so could do more in-depth troubleshooting at that point.

UPDATE:
1) I found this thread which says the 27C1 is the camshaft sensor:

2) The leaky valve cover gasket is on the same bank as the camshaft sensor that might be faulty (thinking oil has seeped into it)?

No input?

Have decided to swap the sensors from one side to the other and see if the error moves with it (plus moving the potentially "bad" sensors to the driver side makes them easier to access later).

Last update:
Found the number 2 plug was slightly fouled, so replaced it and don't plan to make any other changes at this time. Will post back if the symptoms DON'T go away.
