Okay, trivia question - how many people knew there was a switch in the car that disables all trunk access via inside switch, outside handle, remote or key switch?? Well, there is in the glove box on the left side. Apparently when my installer disassembled the glove box side looking for the footwell module the switch got slid to the left. Trunk no worky! I was actually going to check the fuse for the locking circuit when I found it.
I knew there was a switch there to lock the trunk (valet) but didn't know that it inactivated all methods of getting into the trunk. Although in thinking about this, it does make sense for it to work this way. Good to know!

Since I never valet my car, I didn't know about it. The manual says it only deactivates the central locking system for the trunk, not the manual key lock, but the key does nothing.

I also don't valet my car and haven't used it but had read about it somewhere. I thought it worked like you wrote above. Still good to know.

Different question - if you have a LCI E92, the Euro LCI lights (with amber turn signals) won't require recoding - correct?

It should be a direct swap with no coding required.

It is, there is no difference between the US and EU versions other than blinker indicator color.

Just a quick heads up

I have an 07/09 dct build and I have had the lci lights installed and coded for over a week and did not need to purchase an frm3 module

the weird thing is tho that my lights flicker at start-up even after coding but there are no error or bulb codes...also the lights blink fine and normal w/no rapid flashing/blinking

quick question:

Does any1 know what type of bulb is utilized for the lci reverse lights? I had tried to use mike@f1autohaus (great vendor btw) error free reverse lights from my 09 lights but they wouldnt work as the 2011 reverse lights appear to be completely different bulbs..

thanks

Earlier builds react differently than later on bulb sensitivity - You will still need the FRM3 with proper coding to rid of the flickering.

You're correct on the reverse bulbs - they are not compatible with the LCI lamps.

Tom, do the FRM modules house any info that identifies the car it was previously attached to, e.g. VIN number?

Email the sales departments of bmminiparts.com or ecstuning.com, and they'll send you a link with the EU parts.

yes, u will need FRM3 like mine. trust me it's a lot better than buying fake taiwan lci taillights that will come out soon.

Yes, the FRM stores your VIN and Vehicle Order (VO). This is transferred over during coding if the module is changed or upgraded.

I agree, the replicas can be spotted immediately and use load equalizers - which will only cause issues in the future, possibly with other parts of the car.

Looking into it, but at this time - only FRM3.

Here are some shots of the FRM2/FRM3 location underneath the driver's side footwell:

For those looking to inspect what type of FRM they have, the part label will have either FRM2 or FRM3 displayed:

If there are any questions regarding Installation, coding or diagnosis - feel free to ask.

We are looking into this and will present the info to autologic when completed. FRM modules are one of the most critical CMs in the network, including storage of your vehicle order. Proper solutions take time and we're not one to rush things to market. Variables such as production dates, vehicle options, and even different component manufacturers present possible issues. Without being tested on multiple platforms in order to cover all variables and/or potential issues cause from file modifications.

Unfortunately with the information provided Q/A threads such as this one - this also trains our competition as well with everyone rushing to be "first" to arrive at a solution.

We do not offer the EU Taillamps, but programming is completely reversible if desired.
