Wasn't expecting that bad of an outcome. The first race, the M4 is 3-4 cars out when they hit the brakes.

Whats weird is that i kind of like my E92 even more after watching this vid. that sliver one looks great, i find my self looking at it more than the F80. plus that sound of the E92 is all some.

although the only way i would keep a E92 is with a blower. haha !

you know every F80 guy that watching this vid deep down inside loves that V8 sound.

I'm not surprised knowing the 0-60 numbers ,and that difference is very clear in the video!
BTW...///M made never a new car slower than the previous model, and so it's logic !
Also.... 0.5 sec difference in 0-60 time seems nothing, but actualy is huge !
Conclusion....
To be honest ,i've only respect for the new gen. of ///M cars no matter how they sound , and about how they sound...I've heard them personal at my BMW/Dealer,and need to say....no worries they sound more than angry !
Also this thread has now 140 views with only 4 comments ?!?!
C'mon guys let's deal with it....it's clear, they are better and a lot,and they deserve only respect !

I'd like to have a go at that F80. That S65 sounds glorious by the way, something that the F80 will never hear singing.

Sounded like the camera car was a 6MT.

Edit: but actually it's a DCT...shifts sound like D1 lmao. I guess my GTS software has gotten me used to much faster shifts.

Putting serious distance on the E92 in 3rd, 4th. Even at the top of 3rd the E92 looks to claw nothing back. Impressive.

Wish it was a roll on race from 2nd or 3rd to take out some of the standing start variables, but either way the F80 is clearly waaaaay faster.

If you line up a base 911 carrera with only 357hp/287tq against the M4, and drag both cars, the result would be more dramatic than the race with the E92 M3. But most of us have seen this thread, which is a much better way to compare two cars:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1017475

0.3-0.4 seconds on the streets between two cars is not that big a deal. to loose by 1.5 seconds at a race track, to a car with MUCH less hp/tq, is pretty embarrassing. Most people here know the difference between tenths of a second on the street, and whole seconds at a track, which is why this tread has a high view/low response rate.

You call having 8 coolers, 4 water pumps, and 2 thermostats better? Most of us have learned what the new BMW turbos cars are all about from dealing with the 335I. It takes a trained tech, 12 hours just to get to the electric water pump, and now you've stuffed 4 of them all over the car? Having an auxiliary radiator cooler for the radiator's auxiliary cooler, is better than just having a radiator?

Indeed, saw that thread ///M4 vs 911 ,reason is the 911 has the weight of the engine over the rear axle and creates much better traction on the tires and that out of the turns where the difference was made !
About the 8 coolers , 4 water pumps ect... on the ///M4 that's normal and needed because knowing that turbo engines run hotter !
When this works to cool the system...why not ? Our cars are also far from perfect, thinking about all the damn bearing faillures and blown S65's !
But actualy all this (your comment) is off topic , OP's video shows the pull ///M4 vs E92///M3 and shows how much faster the ///M4 is !
Now I'm just knowing man... how hard and sad it is seeing our beloved car in the dust ,smoked all day long by the ///M4, it's also hard for me and want to keep my car too,the last NA/V8 but i'm just only honest to tell what i'm seeing and that was very clear no matter how many water pumps it has it's a lot faster and that even on short distance !
So i'm sorry man, i'm just trying to be honest , actualy i'm raised that way !
Here in my house we are saying when we see the truth...."The truth never lies" How difficult it sometimes is it's the truth and the reality and that is what we can see in OP's video !
But need to say...Losing was never easy , it never is !

LOL @ trying to change this thread into a 911>M4!!!
The M4 pulled the E92 M3 as expected. No contest. I guess now we wait for this to turn into a stock M4 vs blown E92 M3 discussion. lol

That's the outcome id expect. BMW would be stupid to make the F8X M with similar performance to the E9X M.

Tough and sad when you're insecure but otherwise meh. This would only be surprising if the outcome were any different.

Even when the E92 was smacking down just about all of its competition in auto journalist reviews, it was often not the fastest or dominant in every objective performance measure. This changes nothing for me - I still have no desire for an F8X.

In before the e9x guys try and defend their car....

Besides what we already know ( the m4 is faster, interior is much better looking, and sounds like ass) This has to be the worst street race i've ever seen. I'm no saint, but this looks 6pm in the afternoon with traffic and side streets.. jesus christ. Save this kind of shit for 2-6am on a highway.

Trying to make a point that the f80 didn't win in every comparison. But if you watch this vid and all you can think about is how fast the f80 is . Then get one.
