Pilot Sport AS3

I've searched and read some good reviews, but does anyone on here have any long term experience with these?

I was going to get the Super Sports, but the rears are hard to come by and honestly, I need a tire that I can get to work with no matter what the weather is. Granted, I live at NC/SC border so we only get a little slush and maybe a few inches of snow a year (maybe). But calling in a snow day isn't an option and I daily drive my car. I don't track my car so thats not an issue, and if I did I would get dedicated wheels and tires for that.

Anyones opinions would be great.

The A/S3 has very good performance for an all-season tire. It is not going to be as good as a PSS in the summer, but it will do better in the cold weather and light snow.

Among the all-season tires, the A/S3 has some of the best summer performance, but it will still lag behind the best summer tires for maximum wet/dry traction.

So if you accept the fact that you are compromising on maximum summer performance to gain versatility in dealing with bad weather, you will probably be happy with them.

Thanks for the reply Ben. I am willing to compromise a bit. I wont be tracking this car, it is only used for daily duty and backroad driving. The review on your site and from a BMW blog convinced me that the A/S 3 is solid choice for year round driving.

I have a set on order from my local Discount Tire and should have them installed later this week. I'll try to post a review after I put a few miles on them compared to the Conti DW's I have now.

If you are referring to the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3, Michelin does not currently make that tire in that size.

If you are referring to tires in general, yes, we do sell the 265/40R18 size.
