gbb - the reason you get flamed is because you take and make everything personal. Instead of discussing performance cars you choose to make personal attacks and point out others fualts and mistakes. I merely point out the faults and mistakes if the IS-F, (F= Fail). apparently you cant handle tha fact that others don't think its an awesome car.

Motor Trend on the IS-F sept 2008:steering "really loses sensitivity when honking it"
"but the car understeers heavily at the limit" and the "wheel feels disconnected at that point".
and it "plows hard" when pushed.
and inside "the nav screen and buttons come right out of the Prius".

And your point is? It still does'nt changed the fact that you can't tell the difference between an M5 and an M3. Now that's relevant! . What makes you think that i care about that list, i might end up buying an M3 coupe anyway or i might buy the ISF.

I have a better list:

2. sayemthree can't tell the difference between the M5 or an M3

Another guy in the midwest took his stock IS-F to the exact same track. He had a headwind (I had a tailwind) and his DA was about 100' higher than mine. With all that, here are his numbers vs. my numbers:

60 2.002 2.094
1/8 et 8.293 8.674
1/8 trap 89.15 84.12
1/4 et 12.705 13.239
1/4 trap 113.19 110.45

Now, some number crunching... He's about 5 mph faster at the 1/8 point but by the time we finish the 1/4, he's only 3 mph faster. So, I'm actually starting to catch up which is a result of better DA (for me) and the fact I had a couple MPH tailwind and he had a couple MPH headwind. The biggest difference is in the LAUNCH. Even though his 60' is only .09 faster, he didn't spin down the track the whole first gear like I did.

The thing is, he only had two runs - the first run, he had a passenger and the second run he got kicked out for no helmet.

You'll see, the IS-F will be doing even better than 12.70@113 soon... Once we are able to hook up!

Car and driver has done 12.7@114mph, so i don't doubt that you'll do better.

Zero to 100 mph: 9.8 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 24.7 sec
Street start, 5-60 mph: 4.6 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.7 sec @ 114 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 172 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 159 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.92 g

FUEL ECONOMY:
EPA city/highway driving: 16/23 mpg
C/D-observed: 16 mpg

Huh? I don't get it. What else do you expect me to say. Ahh, you expect me to bash BMW like you're bashing Lexus. Not gonna happen, like i've said before, i like BMW's especially the M3 ever since i've drove the first one back in 86'. And i have no problem admitting that the M3 is a better all around performance car, and i have said it countless times. Trust me when i say that people that talk shit about BMW's in Lexus forums gets evenly flamed. The 335i might not be the fastest or best, but for the price and it's mod capabilities, i don't think you can get anything better out there. And the coupe is one of the best designs out there, next to the S5 IMO.

Since my original post was deleted, i will respond to this again. So once again, Alpine6spd was talking about you flaming on the ISF and particularly on Toothdoc just because he has an ISF. No one is flaming on me, if anything i'm flaming on you about not knowing the difference between the M5 & the M3. The thread is about this one particular ISF's 1/4 mile performance, or lack of. You keep going off-topic about the fake vents, fake exhaust, etc. etc. and directing it at me. Why, i have no idea. So therefore i go off topic as well about you not knowing what an M5 or an M3 is. I could careless whether you or anyone else thinks the ISF is awesome or not, or any other car for that matter. All i know and care is that the ISF, e92M3, C63, and the RS4 are all nice cars and i wish i can have them all.

I honestly could care less if anybody likes the ISF, and i especially don't excpect anyone here to do so. My point is that the BMW brand is liked and respected on almost any forum i go to, and i particularly like it very much myself. Point is, in most forums, members do not get flamed on just because they own or like another brand. There are many members in Lexus forums i go to that owns BMW's and they don't get flamed for it for no reason. So i don't understand why you think you need to bash other brands and particularly Lexus if there is no reason to. No one in this thread has said anything bad about BMW at all. You don't like the ISF or Lexus, so what and who cares. But don't express it and bash and flame someone in here particularly Toothdoc just because he has the ISF.
