no offense but you must have wealthy parents as nobody in the miliatary is affording that off what they pay you. But using your parents money is cool too

no, just have had 3 combat deployments and saved...that and the stock market has been kind to me, and yes, my parents left me w/ a "nest egg"

Both cars were bought used...m3 was CPO'd, m5 was a 08 in great condition w/ low mileage.

my goal is to do European Delivery one day...

Sorry, but kinda funny that you're in the "pysch" field but you seem to be really worried about what others think I don't see buying an M3 as "childish" at all or even a mid-life crisis thing either. I'll be 40 next week and am in no way in a crisis Now when i see a 60+ guy in a Z06 then yeah, i think "crisis" But even still, if that's what he wants, then he should go for it. Who cares what others think

Ordered before my 30th bday, took delivery a few weeks after. I'm not in IT, though I thought about it during school.

I make and I sell...soap.
Jk. I work at a Toyota dealership, and boy did I catch hell for buying a $74k BMW. Probably 3 or 4 people at work get the M thing. Good thing I got the car for me. And good thing the wife understands.

Due to the overwhelming majority of IT workers here I think that there should be a forum subcategory for general IT discussion!

10 years? Not really. You can make solid 6 figures with 3-4 years .NET, C#, SQL Server.

"Have No Life" contract? Well - the profession can be kind of consuming but as a contractor you've got pretty good flexibility as far as vaction goes.

And these days a lot of companies don't want contractors to work more than 40 hours/week. Somewhat of a work-life balance guarantee (although employers' concern is budget not people hahaha).
