BMW shop vs dealer / CPO question
Hey guys,
So long story short, hit the right rear wheel. Back wheel is bent. Took it to a local shop that specializes in BMW's (very reputable shop that builds street and track cars, specializing in M3's) If I claim it through warranty it will obviously be reported as an accident. 1. Does that void my CPO warranty? 2. If I do go through insurance, would you rather fix it at the shop or take it to a dealer and have it replaced there? (Dealer will cost more) Thanks for any input. Warranty will not cover damage caused by an accident. This is now an insurance issue... Either you file a claim and risk your insurance rates going up or you suck it up and pay out of pocket.

No, I don't think an accident voids the CPO warranty but you will likely have to replace damaged parts with OEM parts.

If an accident voids your CPO then I would never buy a CPO warranty. I have not heard of that happening.

Get it fixed anywhere you like, but use genuine BMW OEM dealer parts to preserve warranty coverage on the repair. It will not have an effect on your CPO warranty unless the car is totaled by your insurance company. CPO will not cover accident damage, so I wouldn't waste your time trying.
