Pirelli PZero Trofeo R
Anyone tested these yet?
http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/ca..._trofeo_r.html I just today got shipment but it will take 1-2 weeks until I get these under my car. Treadwear is 60, as you can see. This Trefeo R is a new model, Pirelli started deliveries just last month as far as I know.

The Trofeo is a popular tire with the Porsche guys. Apparently, there are two generations (pre-2011 and post), with the 2nd generation not only being ridiculously grippy but also last for 5-6 track days. I personally can't wait to try a set out, but they're almost impossible to get in Canada.
We definitely need you to report back your impressions! |

The first problems came out just after tire shop. I went to install Pirellis and it went out fine. But the rear was rubbing! I have mildly lowered KW Clubsport & 12 mm spacers in rear. Trofeo R is rubbing all the time now and I have to take off spacers.
Tire itself looks great, it has a fat side profile just like in a genuine slick! But please note that Trofeo R is about 10-12 mm fatter than ordinary tires. I have fluently driven different tyres with this set up earlier. For example, right now I have OEM 19" M220s under the car and I can slip my fingers between the side fender and Michelin PS2. With Trofeo R & 18" OEMs wheels there in no room at all. I'll tell you track experiences once I get rear working again.

They look great but judging by sizes avail in 19 they meant for GT2 RS and GT3 RS
None of those sizes are good for m3 in 19s Corsas are better and offer 255/35/19 and 285/30/19 which these don't Looks incredible though, better alternative for Michelin Pilot Cups which are terrible when cold Pirelli Corsas and I'm sure these new ones, are extremely progressive from cold |

I was finally able to test Trofeo R at racetrack. Today I lapped around 45 laps and yes, Trofeo R works very well! Tire is sticky and grip excellent. I tried to keep around 2,5 bar hot pressure around the car and after adjustments my M3 started to work with that set-up. I'm not sure if car could have stand even lower pressures but sidewall seemed to show some small bending and I didn't want to go further. Front camber was -3,0 and tyre seems to work well with that.
After session I inspected front tyres. You could find only very moderate wearing even after nearly 50 high speed laps. Trofeo R seems to last significantly longer than previous semislics (Yokohama, Kumho) I have used. A very good feature. Let's see what happens after more laps but right now definitely +++ for Trofeo R!
