Ferrari 458 real world pics

My doubts about the rear are gone for good now. It would look so sick with a Challenge rear! The only thing left are the headlights...

^^While applying the coverings, they put on Scuderia stripes while they were at it lol

Yes it is, and no it won't. Ferrari seems to choose randomly between using the engine size first, and any number of random things thereafter.

308, 328 and 348 used the same convention as the new F458, engine displacement and number of cylinders.

355 used engine displacement and a 5 for number of valves per cylinder.

360 and 430 used engine displacement and dropped any significance to the last digit.

The 599 seems to follow in character with the 550 and 575 which used engine displacement to the hundredth of a liter, somewhat like the 360 and 430.

The trouble going forward is that if they want to keep to the displacement and cylinder count, the 599 would become the 612, which they already have in use. Oh the humanity!

I believe it's paying homage to the F40, or at least being retro.

Get rid of the "3-exhaust" look!!!

Let me see... maybe the center pipe is for the auxiliary power unit?

It could (really) be an acoustic element - combining pulses from the flat-crank v8 in a way that reduces total sound pressure without robbing it of that sexy howl. Just a thought.

I like far more than R8, Gallardo or 911. It reminds me nothing but a beautiful Ferrari.

It looks nice, but when I stare at the rear, I feel like Corky is staring back at me.

Looks pretty good in yellow and I've never liked exotics in black because black hides the lines.

3 tips are nothing new. It's reminiscent of the F40.

Anything done to a car to make it more like the F40 is a good thing.

I like the tailpipes. They really need to bring back the 4 tail lights though. Two just doesn't look aggressive enough.
