If it's priced anywhere near $55-60K to start (which would be $3-7K more than the 07 model) it will be a smash hit for them.

I sat in the CTS at the LA Auto Show a couple months ago and was impressed.

Never thought I'd seriously consider a Cadillac....but it looks badass, has been getting GREAT reviews (even the base models) and now has basically the Corvette ZR-1's engine.
550 hp.

A tune away from 600+ easy.
A pulley and tune away from 650 hp.

Damn, but then there's the gas mileage, which will probably be like 13-14 mpg stock.

The new CTS's are popping up on the streets here. A dark blue one was behind me the other day. Have to admit that view looked pretty aggressive. The rear lamps are what I don't care for much.

I totally agree...my first thought was the exterior looks a bit on the boxy side, but I really need to see it in person before passing judgement. The interior on the other hand looks incredible!

Other than the nice interior the car was really a let down

Engine dident rev as freely as a bmw

The prior CTS-V handling did not suck, I strongly considered buying one, but I too am very disappointed by the weight of the new model. Seems to be a common theme these days, being disappointed by the weight (See M3, GT-R, etc...)

I'm also concerned about the fuel economy. It seems to me there are many reasons besides simply money not to be burning that much fuel. I can get over it, I'm just saying it is a consideration for me and I prefer to find some balance, like my 335i which still gets 23 mpg mixed.

Yes, I was disappointed to see th 4100+ lbs weight too.
But not only that, I read that the new Corvette ZR-1 will be the first Corvette to be hit with a gas guzzler tax.

Well, if the Corvette ZR-1 is going to have a gas guzzler tax that means it's gas mileage must be around 15 mpg or under.

Then you consider the CTS-V has (98%) the same engine but the car weighs about 800 lbs more and you gotta figure it's going to get like 12 mpg...kind of like the E60 M5

As fun and nice as that car would probably be, that's just completely irresponsible in this day and age.

I agree, the beauty of the 335i is, we get great power, but still get pretty good gas mileage (even with the PROcede) you can get over 20 mpg.

Like Hunter, I drove the new CTS recently, and wasn't all that impressed.
My biggest gripes, were the weight, vague steering feel, and the soft suspension. I'm sure the CTS-V will address the suspension and hopefully the steering, but that still leaves it coming in at heavy-weight status.

This car is still a step in the right direction and proves GM is serious about going after the Germans. I just think it needs another generation before it truly shines. I just want them to produce a coupe version.

lol. maybe most people wont. but i still will. i think the new CTS really looks nice. they always looked nice to me. if someone tells me its a much nicer car than my 325i i wont have any problems with it. but the sharp busy lines on the car really makes it seem a little peculiar to me... like the batmobile. peace out man.

besides, whether or not a male porn star drives a particular car, people here would still express their opinions- in a silly or non-silly way.
