The euro speed o registers up to 330km, the same on our American, last number is 330kms. He says there is a good deal of work involved in changing out the plate, not as simple as it use to be and that local dealers may not even be able to change out the face plate. May have to be sent out as a repair to be accomplished. The DIN for the Speed O and Tac are in fact the same for Euro / Amer Spec. I am only passing on the information from Autohaus BMW Pressath, so I don't know for 100%. But Herr Lautner, (SM) has always been on the up and up with me since 1995 when we purchased our first new 1995 525 bimmer.
Thanks for update!

OK, this is exactly what I thought! Yes, it might be arduous to change the plate itself, but no recalibration is needed since both dials go from 0 to 330 KMH. I think we are on the same page now.

No not exactly, he does believe the face plate can be replaced. However, Mr Lautner was referring to (may have to send out as a repair). Is that the Speed O is sealed, and he may have to send the unit out to the VDO repair shop that I believe is located in Regenstaf as well as Landsberg, (the only two that he mentioned) but I'm sure they are more throughout Germany.

Fog lights switch

guys,

Just wondering: the official brochure shows a Euro fog lights switch in an US Specs car. If you have the brochure, check out page 32. Clearly miles speedo and fog light switch.

Does this mean I can claim this switch from my CA???

sorry for no pics, as I cannot scan the pages anywhere. If someone can, pls scan p32.

Thanks
