What do you guys think?

Hey I recently bought a 2007 VW GTI MkV with a 6MT and I love it, I never thought I'd be the hatchback kind of person but it is really useful and sporty. Not to mention fast as hell. What do you guys think about it? The color is called United Grey. VW gives each color its own description here is mine: "It's the color of foreboading storm clouds looming on the horizon. It's the color of cold unfeeling uncaring stone. It's the color of battleships. It's not black, it's not white. It's Blight." The interior is pretty wild, most people are like Paid!?!?!? I like it though very firm seats that hold you in while tearing around the twisties. Anywho here are the pics.

on the GTI. I tested the same color gray GLI and loved it. I am a big VW fan.

That said, on the interior. I've never been a fan of that cloth checkerboard interior. The GLI I tried had a leather interior that I really liked.

I know what you mean the leather was nicer, but it also was a 3000 dollar package which I didn't want to spend cloth is fine until I'm done with this lease. Next car is a BMW once I finish college hopefully then I won't have to skimp on options that I want.

That plaid is interesting; I think it goes well with the interior. Reminds me of a school girl uniform.

I hear you. I had no idea it was a $3K option. That's more than it is on the E90. I guess I just would prefer a plain cloth interior to the plaid they use in the GTI. But maybe it would grow on me.

In any case, as I said, I am a huge fan of the GTI Mk V and of VWs in general. People on this site will kill me for saying so, but IMO the GTI/GLI is 8/10ths the fun of the Bimmer and is nowhere near 8/10ths the price. :rocks:

I love the plaid interior on the Golf GTI, its a classic look for it. LOL on the school girl uniform, don't think I'd look at that interior the same way...

Still, if I were to buy a golf, I'd definitely go with the plaid interior with a black, red or white exterior and the upgraded wheels.

Also you don't sweat on hot days either with cloth seats.

When are they going to have cooled leather seats?!

the plaid definitely had to grow on me but I really like it. Oh I had them switch out the 18" wheels because those things don't sit well with me at all, they are way too out there for my taste. I plan on eventually getting RS4 replicas which are badass.

I'm not talking 335 fast that would just be stupid, this turbo-4 can definitely hold its own plus I don't take it to a track so where I live anything above the rated 180 is just overkill, nowhere really to stretch its legs. This is the perfect city crawler imho. Now if I lived somewhere with empty switchbacks and such, I'd definitely want something like a Z4 M coupe. Which I can only dream to ever be able to afford

That car's not bad!

I love the TV commercial along with the little rabbit emblem on the back of the car. The plaid on the seats are pretty cool, too. They remind me of a jacket my dad once had.

Dude! This is a GTI - no Rabbit emblem on this car. The GTI is the "sport" version, quite a step up from a Rabbit, and a total blast to drive.

Sure fooled me! My ignorant ass always noticed the emblems on everything that looked like a GTI.

I was unsure about lowering I heard it affects the bi-xenon headlights auto leveling feature. Any can confirm such a thing?
