ZCP in Canada

Hello to all forum members,

Long time peruser, first time poster. I am very close to ordering a manual MW e92 with a possible ED, however I have a quick question. Did anyone have issues ordering the ZCP in Canada? At my local dealer, when I spec the car out ZCP isn't even offered in their system, it seems it will have to be an individual order. Did anyone get the ZCP for less that $5185, any thoughts.

Sidenote: DCT was $3900, and apologies for not posting in New Car Section and I've already read the 2011 invoice price thread.

$5185 is the dealer cost of the 7MA which also includes the 19"style 359 wheels & EDC.I think the retail is about $5700 but my BOS also says $5185 but I would not be suprised if a lot of dealers mark it up more as there are not any published MSRP pricing on this as it is still considered a special order item so they still charge the $400 special order charge!

^This.
Point of clarification for the OP.
In Canada the competition package goes by the coding "7MA" as it does in Europe (not the Z codes of the USA).

Secondly don't let your dealer check the "Individual" box unless you truly want an individual colour, the different console trim etc... As Gearhead999 pointed out however it is presently a 'Special Order Item' so you have to pay $400 to order the 7MA package.

Search for the forum user "horsie" as the most recent Canadian to receive a Competition Package M3 that I have noticed.

Gearhead and I are both waiting on 7MA equipped cars and I am holding my breath that the dealer ordered mine correctly.

I'm in the midst of ordering an E90 M3 here in Calgary, and was quoted $5500 for the package on that car.

Yes, special order 7MA for the Comp. Pack was $5185 and the special order fee was $400. Great package, especially those wheels!! My car is scheduled for 2000 km post break-in service on March 2. And the car is more awesome than you could ever imagine.

Just in for my break-in service right now.

Not sure if I would have opted for 7MA if I had the chance to order again. The 10mm drop is very tempting... I find my non-ZCP does ride a little high from an esthetics standpoint. To the point that I'm considering dinan stage 1!

Like Gearhead999s said you are actually getting the 7MA (ZCP) package at cost, the retail for 7MA on my ZCP was $5675. Considering you are getting 19" wheels and EDC anyway here is how the math works out for us Canadians at retail:

$2000(EDC)+$2000(19")=$4000(cost for 19"wheels and EDC)

$5675(ZCP)-$4000(EDC+19")=$1675(difference for 10mm drop, different springs, and EDC/DSC software)

I don't think $1675 is too outrageous for what you get.

For you of course it is $490 cheaper since it appears you are getting it at cost.

By the way it will not have to be an Individual order just a special order (BMW terminology for a special request). My dealer waived the $400 fee, but if they are offering it to you at cost I guess you are getting $90 of the cost of the 7MA even with the fee.

Will you have the car by the end of tue day for some weekend 8000rpm fun?

Presumably because you were already paying the $3900 Individual Order fee for your gorgeous Moonstone ride helped your dealer toss asunder the special order fee.

Well the Individual option is not actually a fee. The $3900 includes Individual paint, Individual interior trim, High gloss shadowline and M Individual audio. Really it is not a bad deal since it includes other options in the price of the paint.

As with any other option it's a fee in my book. However where it differs for me is that is largely a colour fee. M-Individual audio is news to me, I didn't recall that when I was considering going the individual route.

I don't mean any disrespect, I'm envious of your individual order Jamie. However for me it really came down to the fact I was considering paying $3900 for the anthracite sycamore console trim.

I would have went Azurite and as great as it is it's a coin flip for me personally with Jerez, shadow line wasn't something I felt was necessary (although I'm sure it adds a touch of class) on a dark car.

I know once Mark opened the Individual Door, his fantastic car would have quickly ended up on the pointy side of $100k and I'm not yet ready for that psychologically (taxes not withstanding).

I understand and unless you really wanted the Individual paint it is a lot of money for trim, but the $3900 does indeed include the Individual audio, shadowline, and trim....... I am looking at my original invoice as we speak.

I am quite sure Mark's car was over 100K MSRP since mine was very close to 100k MSRP and he has a few more options than any one else due to his ability to configure the car directly with M. If my car had DCT it would have broke 100K MSRP.

One thing about my car was after I spoke with IND it went way over 100K once the mods were figured into the price.

No doubt.
You boys definitely play in the big boy league.

I'm glad BMW offer the individual program in Canada, and I'm very glad they offer Fox red at all.

I am just a working guy like most folks however I have the benefit of working in an area where wages are quite a bit more than anywhere else in Canada, I also got lucky and moved here before house prices were through the roof.

It also helps to have an understanding wife and we don't have kids yet. My reason for buying the M and going overboard on the mods is that once we have children my priority will be them and not cars.

Yah, right!

I thought the same thing too until I had two kids and STILL wanted the M3, the rims, the exhaust... Just accept the fact you will never be able to get away from our little hobby kids or no kids. The longer you fight it, the harder it will get...

I definitely agree with you however like I said it will no longer be my #1 priority. I will always love cars but if I have kids they will be my #1 priority as I am sure your kids are for you!

Likewise. Two young kids, and the priorities really change. Kids activities, preschool, private school considerations, etc. And don't forget all the time spent with the family, away from detailing and tinkering in the garage. My kids and family come WAY before my cars, and work too.

I agree with you Jamie.
I have a 14 month old son, and I know if I ever couldn't provide all available options the car would go.

In the mean time I look forward to having my cake and eating it.

Oh yeah back to the OP... Get the ZCP!!! I was quoted $2880 today for Dinan stage 1, from my stealership. $1950 from an independent Dinan-authorized shop. Plus an additional 20% off sale right now from Dinan.

So no one purchased the competition package for less than 5k I take it. In that case I will get the ZCP. You guys breaking it down for me has pretty much sold me on it, don't even care if the 359m wheels are cast and not forged. I will make sure that it's just a special order and not an individual, and I like the mineral white. Another question to anyone stilll looking in this thread, how have the lighter colour extended interiors held up over time.

Not less than $5k no.
It's a shame Mineral White isn't a sedan option, but it will make each ME Coupe that little bit different.
