Need sub-20lb track wheels by the 17th

After upgrading the pads and getting excellent results, I am increasingly concerned about the performance of the PS2s on the track. They are now the weakest link in my car. I have an intensive driving school coming up on the 17th (3.5 hours of track time in one day), and I don't want to be doing long sessions with the PS2s. They can't really survive more than 15-20 minutes of driving as they get really mushy after about 10 laps when you push them hard. I had to cool down early in a couple of sessions last weekend because of that.

Anyway, although I was planning to wait until next year for track wheels, I've decided to go for them now. The problem is nobody seems to have what I want in stock, and I am being quoted wait times in the order of 2 months. All vendors have for the M3 are 19" sets. The only exception seems to be Turner, who has sets of 18x10 Forgeline wheels at $3600 that are made for the E9X M3. I don't want to go that wide or pay that much (I'd like to pay closer to $2500 for the set). Does anybody know where I can buy a 18x9.5 square setup (in the 18-19lb range) for the car today that will fit properly without any spacers or centering rings? The wheels I would really like to own are TE37s or Advan RSs. I like the Advan F7s, but I am pretty sure the 18s they make are way too narrow.

CCW, in your price range and maybe in your timeframe, they're very quick.

You can pick up a staggered 19" set right now for about $2700 (silver finish pricing, which is more than black), but the square 18" set would be 6-8 weeks.

I'm pretty sure they require spacers.

I ran trmotorsports mt1 18x9 square setup with bfgoodrich 265/35/18s, (and didn't user spacers) at VIR last month, worked great on sport EDC.

x2 - awesome light tires. I also recommend the BFG R1 tires.

in 18x10 all around. but ideally I think you need 18x9 in front and 18x10 in back. but then you cant rotate.

18x10 dont. 18x9 should use a 5 or 10 mm spacer in the rear.

you wont get a perfect square set up that you can rotate front to rear without spacers due to the diff in offset on the m3.

What about 18x9.5 with 25 mm offset all around? That would move both edges of the rear wheels in by 2 mm, and move the inside edge of the fronts in by 9 mm and the outside edge out by 17 mm. How much additional clearance is there on the insides of the front wheels to begin with?

I give up. There simply aren't a set of 18" track wheels that I can buy at the moment. Not even the TR Motorsport wheels; they're not in stock. And I'm not going back to the track on the PS2s, which are pretty much destroyed at the front. So I ordered a set of Pilot Sport Cup Sport Cups for the stock 19" wheels as an intermediate solution. I was thinking about putting them on next summer anyway. I'll look into track wheels next year. Turner says specific LTW5 E9X fitments with <30mm offsets will be available next year btw.

Darn, I was hoping you'd go with the Forgelines from Turner. I was anxious for someone else to put down the big cash and try them out. There certainly wouldn't be any lack of grip with 10" wide wheels at all 4 corners.

I got to see the Forgelines on display with Turner at BMW CCA Octoberfest at the Glen. I should have asked them if I could mount them on my car at least on one side just to see what they looked like.

It turns out those are made to order as well. Also, if I'm going to spend that much on wheels, I'd better like the way they look as well as the way they perfom. Not so sure about their looks honestly. Waiting is indeed the best option at this point. There should be alternatives in the spring.

They weren't/aren't in stock. Is that the setup you have? Do they fit right in the front?
