335i vs RS4 + CLS63 + SLK55

I recently had the opportunity to run against these "fast" cars. I no longer think they are "fast". I know being at 5500ft elevation helps a lot, but the margin of victory against the RS4 & SLK55 was so great that I rather not disclose for fear of being ridiculed.

The 63 was a closer race, but I could still give him the hit & run him down with ease. Modded 335's really rule at altitude.

How do you compare your Proceded 335 to your M3? I am super impressed with the power and speed of my Proceded (1.47) 335. It seems way faster than my e46 M3 or 550. It has exceeded all my expectations!

Driving even a stock 335 at a mile high is a blast. I even feel a little sorry for the sea level drivers because they have no clue as to how well those turbos deliver consistent power, even at altitude. There is just a little bit of loss at low RPM's (1500) because the engine can't suck enough air to get the turbo's up to speed. However, other turbo designs I've driven were many times worse at low RPM at altiude. BMW has designed a beautiful engine.

Straight line its no contest. My M3 with 4.11 gears, chip & ACS backbox traps 104-105 at this elevation (trapped 109 at sea-level). My 335 has trapped 112 at the same track up here. It has a bit more power now so it should trap a little more than 112.

But the M3 is not all about straight line. Every time you get into it, you know you going to have a ball.

These times were recorded on that day at LACR... I pulled a 13.371 @ 102.9mph that day... Should give you a good idea about how fast the 335 is

what mods have you done to your 335i, trapping at 112mph is the fastest yet isn't it?

Agreed. I just drove a stage 4 Renntech SL55 with forged wheels, etc. Very, very nice car. I could have bought it for a song. It didn't seem as fast as the Procede 335 i on the butt dyno. I prefer turbos to superchargers.

I believe he has full turbo back exhaust and procede. Anything else he hasnt disclosed or I'm wrong......112mph trap is great!!!

lol do you copy and paste these times in every post? i think i saw this in another thread also

at sea level, well on pch for instance at least, my sister's E63 would smoke the shit out of me. sure my car (with only procede and exhaust) isnt as fast as yours, but with a well prepped track i think most AMG's would tear the shit out of our 335is procede or not (unless you have V2 or til new upgrades become available maybe)

most AMGs run in the low (sometimes) - mid 12s

hah maybe not 15 but it would be close. if not a close one, the cl550 will probably be only 1-2 CLs - maybe more

even though the new MB 550 engine is rated at 380hp or so, i think the cars are still heavy so a stock 335i may be able to beat a CL550....
