LOL sorry about that... I, for just one second thought that Mr. Elitist was going to swindle me into thinking that all M3 owners are that way. Sorry for jumping the gun.

If interior appointments were the first bullet item, I probably wouldn't have bought the Z06. Interior never bothered me. I was too busy DRIVING the car and enjoying it, in a different way than I did the M3. There are lots of kick ass cars out there. To be so narrow in mindset to think that one trumps all others is foolish and juvenile.

So I have my m6 prepped for the track and ill be hitting up Streets of willow this weekend and then Fontana speedway on 9/14. Based off of my previous experience, I've already made up my mind that ill probably hate being on track with this car and ill be selling it soon. I'm going to need a track/stress relief car with the following candidates, c5/6 z06(again) or an e46/90 m3. Age doesn't matter so much as reliability and fun factor since I have my other cars for the weekend w/ the Mrs. I'm curious what you z06 fans recommend?

I just finished up building a pretty well put together e46, see sig, and plan on possibly a z06 next year in addition so I have a higher hp alternative.

Stingray will be out soon. I want to test drive one before pulling the trigger on a current Z06. I have had no car since I sold my M3 (3 weeks)driving a 1995 F150. It's brutal.

On another note, I drove the 997.1 turbo and a new boxster s and I have to admit, I prefer the boxster! After stopping by pacific porsche I gave my Chevy dealer a call about the stingray, and they said if I place my order now they can get me a November delivery @msrp.... I'm just not so sure about buying a base corvette. This track day can't come any sooner, if my m6 sucks after all of the mods, I'm dumping it on Monday whether I find a replacement car or not

the change from the 997 to the 991 is unbelieveable. the ride quality / handling balance didn't even make sense it handled amazing and the ride quality was almost the best of any car ive ever driven (car had PASM and PDCC) not a ton of power, but plenty, and the car sounded damn good and didn't even have the sport exhaust. I was VERY impressed with the new 991. let us know what you think! |

Motortrend was just at LS testing the C7 vs. the 991 Carrera S. According to a spectator, that is also cool with the staff, he said the C7 beat the porsche, and also beat some pretty expensive big dawgs at the track. He was sworn to secrecy about actual numbers and results, but he said MT was astounded by the performance of the C7. I'm sure the mag. will be out really soon.

Since I had been bumped up to Advanced I couldn't help but notice the guys in GTR's, ZR1's, and other high end speed models lacking key knowledge. I learned in my Z06 and surely my speed had something to do with it, but I had open ears the whole time and kept learning as much as I could before bumping up

you are correct. in an equally driven match up, the z06 should win that race but, he will do so in a hairy hard to manage car and have to work much harder to get there. it also does say something that you resort to this arguement. why is it that most vette owners arent as advanced as their cars, its not just their choice of car, possibly the mentality of the owner who chooses one vs the other. people who want a vette want speed at all cost and are looking for a bargain super car. people who what the gt3 dont care so much about the bargain they want the real deal and need feel and finesse to go along with the brutality. i for one want both.

Ok, so I made my purchase today and picked up a gt3. I couldn't be happier, but I have to admit the first time I got on it I was looking for the power button like in my m6 :/
It definitely doesn't have the instant gratification of the z06 but it seems to be multifaceted and ill be learning to drive all over again, with an emphasis on slow in and fast out. Off to streets of willow in my new ride

This dealership had a heavy lineup of cars and the gt3 had to have been the cheapest car there!
