Just saw the new M3 in Sherman Oaks, CA
Ok first off I don't have any pics, sorry, I was sitting in my companies office conference room, for the L.A. guys my office is at Sepulveda and Ventura (which is arguably one of the busiest intersections in L.A.), and what do I see...a brand new Black M3 with BBS LM style rims with NO tape/cover extra ANYWHERE on the car.
Since I was in my office I had no time to snap a pic, but I did get a great look at the car. Impressions, the hood bulge from the side looked BIG. I am definitely not one of the hood bulge “haters” but I must admit it looked very noticeable from the side. The mirrors looked good, that gap between them was not too noticeable, they definitely looked sharp. Rear exhaust was nice, the pipes weren’t too shinny though they definitely looked bigger in diameter than I thought. Sorry no pics guys, or any great news, but I guess for the L.A. guys it’s cool to know that they finally removed the tape and are now driving it around freely.

I live right down the street from there. What time of day was this? In which direction was it going?
Hell, I'll camp out and wait for the car to pass, assuming it's going on a routine route for the driver (i.e. could be the manager at Century West was loaned the car, etc.). |

BMW NA has a center (I think they call it research and also preparation) in Oxnard, CA. They also test those prototype etc among other things. BMW also has another office in Marina Del Rey. If you drive around there daily, granted you will encounter the car at least one out of 7 days a week.

To answer everyones questions.
No I did not hear the exhaust since I was in my office building. For anyone that knwos L.A. street traffic (let alone at Sepulveda and Ventura) he was NOT driving fast at all, though the car looked nice. I see the car heading West on Ventura through Sepulveda quit often, and more often than not it's between 10am-12pm. Yes, BMW has a testing facility up in the Ventura County area, and more importnatly the BMW NA Design Works is in Newbury Park, which is a northern suburb of L.A. It's about 30 minutes North of where I saw the car on teh streets.
