Thanks

OK read. Not the best test but thanks for posting. Really boring vid as well. I would really like to have heard more about the handling of each and relative to each other. The interesting things I took away were:
-Strange that the y had performance numbers for both except the M3 which had estimated values. Odd
-They really disliked the flot bottom R8 steering wheel. Minus 1 for all the Audi interior lovers...
-M3 high speed stability is "on par with Alcatraz during a heavy gale"
-M3 had the best steering response in the wet
-Hold your breath... $68k BASE PRICE (estimated). Not looking good on this point

That will be unfortunate. If an optioned car costs mid to high $70's, I won't be buying one. You know where I'll be going.

Yeah, 68 base price is ridiculous... absolutely no way BMW would sell 50K of these babies at that price...

I am holding true to the 57K estimate....

It's estimated people. No need to start another rant.

I liked the article. Good to see the M3 hanging tough with those two 6-figure cars.

Blame the American Dollar for this one.... You guys should see the bloodlust in Canada now that our currency is even and we are paying much more money than our neighbours for the same car!

BMW AG needs to make money from BMWUSA but doesn't want to raise prices because they will lose marketshare.....

We are but pawns in a bigger game.

Its a case of supply and demand in Canada... Lower supply, same demand means higher costs....it happens

Stooopid weak American dollar, traveling costs so much right now, and we don't reap the rewards in people traveling to us because entering the US for a lot of countries right now is a similar process to prison intake.

I probably should have interjected my opinion as well as their estimate. NO WAY IN HELL is my estimation of the probability of a $68k base. I do think it refelcts a general trend in most folks estimates - higher and more likely to crest over $60k.

JEllis,
Nice post and really nice pics of the cars. The GT3 just seems meaner in Carrera White. Good to see positive comments about the M3's steering.
