Normal tire life?? How many miles on original tyres?

I was looking at my car today, only 5k miles and my front tires are almost bald. Geez is wear that bad ?

They gave me pirelli ps2. I don't track the car or drive it hard.

What kinda miles are u guys getting out of original factory tires?

What you describe is a bit unusual. Most folks find the fronts last about twice as long as rears. I would be suspect of an alignment problem, especially in view of your conservative driving. I have about 7K on my car, with one track weekend. The rears are about down to the wear bars, perfect for dry handling, but will not pass state inspection again. The fronts are in good shape.

If you have Pirelli's, they are P Zero's. BMW hasn't been installing them on the M3 for all that long; so, there's not a lot of experience with how long they last on the M3. Friends with P Zero's on other cars report very short life.

If you look around a bit, there are lots of tire wear threads. Your experience is very short compared to what most people have reported with Michelin PS2's and the Continentals.

General experience is that the fronts last about twice as long as the rears; so, if your rears still look pretty good, alignment would definitely be suspect.
