Fox Red or Black

Hi All,

I might have a small window to get Fox Red instead of Black - I have debated this for a while. I have never had red leather... never had leather in a car... want something that is relatively easy to maintain and well.. looks good...

on that basis.... what do you all think?

Agree w/ all 3 points.
Classic BMW sports coupes have had red leather. Oh, and we can have black leather in ... hmm.. about every lux car I can think of, or near luxury.

Infiniti: black = available; unique to M3 FR - no.

Of course, I am biased. Please choose black: will make my M3 that much rarer

Yes, it's subjective.

"black is cleaner" - trying to work this out but I surmise you mean that it's harder to mark and obsidian.

"red is more unique " yes - and echoes BMW's heritage w/ 507s etc.

no offense, but i find the red offered in the regular 3 series is tacky, fox red is a rusty red, much nicer in my opinion

my extended fox red is my favorite thing about the car. DEFF DO IT!! I get so many compliments on it you would be surprised. Sometimes i find myself sitting in traffic just feeling and in awe of the softness and color. Definitely get extended as well! You wont regret it.

Points taken gentlemen... tough call - but I think that I'm starting to sway - in the end - this is a one of a kind colour and it does look very nice.

Mine is not and I chose FR because .... I COULD! I mean, choosing black is easy, which does not make it wrong.

i used to want a 335 with coral red leather, and now when i see it. i think its horrible, its like a bright red. Fox Red is classy, VERY classy in my opinion.

I think it's much like on my E46 M3, I just wasn't really feeling the Imola Red interior but absolutely loved my Cinnamon! I wish it was an option on the E9x. I am glad that the FR is more of an earthy brick-like red otherwise I would have to get black or bamboo as I HATE the silver leathers.

I think SG/FR would be a great combo. The FR will give the car some flare.

SG/black would be kind of dull, IMO.

Definitive comment. I know an M3 pilot who now wishes for FR. In their core.

Tough ask.

Black is cool and mean... and hot (as in temperature). And available in all major luxury sedans. Awesome!

Oh, that's right: I want to keep the [FR] numbers down Damn!

Update: I can change - I have until the end of this week to make the decision on FR. So that is good news... hmmm tough decisions.... or maybe not!

I got my car in sept, SSII/FR and I really love the colors, Fox red is a really nice classy color. It stands out and gives the car a bold presence. I've driven my car for almost 26000miles and I never get tired of it

In my opinion I really don't think you'll regret making the choice. One more thing, I really like how the fox red goes along with the interior lighting especially at night.

My E46 was red (more like a burgundy) and the GTO too. It was almost as hot as black, and showed wear/fade/stains (even with my exaggerated conditioning) rather quickly, so no more red ever for me, but when new it looks nice. If you want it, get it, but I predict it'll be your first and last; just make sure to tint your car, take VERY good care of it, and hopefully you're not a big fellow so you can lever yourself into and out of your car without rubbing your seat, or your nice red leather would look like crap in no time. Oh, and I had a hard time selling both of them because of the interior; not many folks like it, so be ready to deal with that too. Good luck man.
