On the road again ...

This time for business not for pleasure Just like to share my experience with you about fuel consumption ...

I traveled some 3,300 KM until the friendly female voice on my GPS informed me "you have reached your destination"

My travels took me thru some small Canadian as well as US towns I would call it a split between 85% Highway and 15% small town driving. After some 2,000 KM my fuel consumption stabilized at 10.5 Liters / 100 KM driven. The driving pattern was relaxed at about 10% above posted speed limits, keeping up with the traffic.

I took a picture for the non believers in the group 122 KM/Hr (76 Miles/hour) that was in a 70 mile speed zone. The posted speeds in the US on the Interstate and Highways I used was 65, 70 and 75 Miles/hour in Canada the posted limits are mostly 100 and 110 KM/hour.

The two bonus shots I took are not the wonderful lakes we have south and north of the boarder they are farmers fields in North Dakota and lower Canada. Expect food prices to increase some more, for the farmers are having a hard time planting there crop.

Thanks for the pics Rolf! You know I'm one of the non-believers! Keep up the gas savings... The rest of us using extra fuel to cover your miser-like consumption.

Not misering (spelling? forgive me just think of my German accent) at all, just making a point for the fellow in his early 30s trying to convince his wife to get that M3 ... he can point to Rolf and tell her .... See here Rolf gets good milage so can we and the kids can come along (believe me I packed enough luggage and instruments for the project - that can count for the weight of a wife and 2 kids).

Besides, doing my part for being green (10% above speed limit) even though I can see people laughing in my rear view mirror in there economy car properly saying look aat that idiot with his 400 + HP car. You might have seen them too in your rear view mirror little do they know how much fun we are having.

Cheers

It's my GPS talking to me and I do like Lora's voice the best see I don't have the iDrive, just the bare essentials like I had in my e46

I do here and then and make sure the window is open so I can enjoy it all the way It is amazing how how quickly one can catapult past a 18 wheeler or even 3 to 4 slow poke cars in front of you

Great job though, 24.5 mpg is amazing. I see nowhere near that in any of the trips I take with my 335
Practice makes perfect as they say, noting special really just staying 10% above the speed limit, also remember my car is a 6MT no iDrive.

Back to the Chicago - Montreal Game 7 may the best team win

Night for now
