Need really quick feedback on M3 price

I am trying to make a decision on a 2009 CPO M3. It's a few states away, so I need to drive there tomorrow if the deal is going to happen... here are the specs

White with CF roof
Black Int
Alum Trim
6 speed
Loaded
30k miles

They are asking $58,000, but I have them down to $52,500. They are also offering a decent price on my trade.

I had been looking for an 08/09 in the mid 40s, so this is over my range. That said, the car looks great. Is this a fair price, or should it be under $50k?

Sounds high. Use KBB and Edmunds and start with what THEY paid for the car, not what retail should be.

09 for $58? Are they on crack?

I would peruse this thread:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366319

My guess would be 47-49 tops...?

to put this in prespective i just bought a 2012 e92 for $63,600. with every option but premium sound. so $58k sounds really high.

Does it have DCT?
Are you buying this in Canada by any chance? Because that would explain that price lol

This is a US car. It is a 6 speed, but has almost all other options. I did a lot of research (edmunds, KBB, the pricing thread here, and clearbook). All seemed to point to a price around $48k or $49k. They have it listed crazy-high, but pretty quickly came down to $52,500.

I think I'll pass and keep looking, but I told them that I would take it for anything under $50k.

I just got a 2010 with 8K miles and DCT and everything except PDC, EPS and sunroof for $50,000 + TTL. Not a CPO but in beautiful shape. Keep looking. If they come back to you for $48K then it may be worth it. M3's are a buyers market. Not so the S4.

Where did you find it? I have been looking primarily at BMW dealerships because I was hoping for a CPO. A 2010 would have enough warranty left, that it wouldn't be an issue.

Did you go through a private party or used dealership?

You buy through a military sales program? If so, there is a huge difference between what you paid and what folks are paying back stateside at a dealership.

Yes indeed, that is the advantage we have as service members and DoD personnel serving overseas or those taking advantage of a ED

Helluva price...! Those types of discounts aren't unheard of for an M3 if you do ED or Military Sales...

+1

Lets compare apples to apples....

Talk about all the misinformation in this board and people getting 09's for $20K.....

Between the FS threads for $100K and people almost getting M3's for free I am hopeful people will eventually get to their senses....

When buying used, you get what you pay for..... There will eventually be a big price difference between track queens and garage queens.......when everything else stays the same.

When buying used, I would prefer to meet the owner and have a conversation with them. The value added that way is much prior to a "CPO" car IMO.....
