I'll check and see how much the bmw rear sunshades are vs tinting.

Might be cheaper to tint.
You can go for the clear UV coatings. You get the benefit of the shade without the darkening of the windows.

From my getbmwparts.com receipt it seems like 51400413670 is the part number I ordered. $111. I am not sure if that is OEM part number or a getbmwparts.com part number/sku.

I've been looking around a lot lately and found a German company called windesa. They sell a product called the Sonniboy. Looks like a quality product. Ordered it and should be getting it in a couple weeks. Will post pics when I have a chance.

I had the oem mesh style side shades on a previous e90 and they worked great for a few years until we sold the car.

Use 3M Crystalline Film. Its see-through and is designed to only block UV rays.

The ceramic coatings seem to reduce heat without apparent tint.

I have the OEM shades on my E90 M3 and my windows are tinted 35%. They only take about 10 sec to take out. I keep mine in all the time. My daughter doesn't complain about the sun in her eyes anymore and it doesn't interfere with my driving. I actually think they look better than the pull up ones that came in my X3.
