totaled e46 buying e90.. need tire and wheel recommendations

Ok so a few months ago I put my e46 m3 into a wall and sad to say she is done. I have gone through several threads about tire size but most of the memmbers already own a specific set of wheels and want tires for that set of wheels. With that said I will be starting from scratch so I need recommendations for wheel offset size along with tire size. I perfer to run nt01 as thats what I ran on my e46. I will be running bbk so that most likely puts me in te37sl and apex. But I was running te37sl on my e46 and to date I believe they are some of the best wheels out there for track use.

So school me on wheel size and tire size for my new sled. Thank you for your time

Apex arc 8 is a good choice. I run 18x10 ET 25 square set, with 275/35/18. This is a very common setup.

I have also run staggered TE37SL 18x9.5 ET 22 and 18x10.5 ET 20 with 265/35 and 285/35. I like the apex setup better.

I have not tried either of those setups so I can't say for sure. I know some have run 285/30 and I'm sure they'll chime in.

One of the sets I run is 285/30 squared TD's (on squared TE37SL 18x10.5 ET20) and the front tires just barely touch the fender liner. Wouldn't call it rubbing.

Although, many run that staggered setup as well.

It's a trade-off between larger front tires of squared setup reducing understeer at turn-in, and larger (than front) rear tires of staggered setup giving you more grip at corner exits. Tried to get best of both by running 275/35 R-S3 at front and 285/35 R-S3 at rear at one time last year. But, ultimately, ability to rotate tires w/ squared setup won over for me.

as above, 275 NT01 are pretty hard to beat in a square setup.

Make sure that if you get 18"s you get something that will clear a future BBK.

Is that a track only setting or do you rock that on the street and if so hows the wear?

I daily it like once a week, so it gets used mostly at the tracks. For street, I ride on old, heat-cycled-out R-S3's (of which I have 3 sets).
