Yes I use mind every day, park off street in North West England.

Mine is mineral white and black wheels and loads of individual bits. But so far no probs.

If your into cars you will know what it is, if not providing its parked up its a sleeper.

The problem is when yoy start it up, it tends to either put a smile on their face or you get the impression that they thick your some kind of thug.

I am my own boss, so staff just laugh and ask for pay rise!!!

Enjoy, dont assume you know what people think about these cars, back end of last year I had a old gent praising the sound of the engine and remembering how much he loved his Merc V8S

Made that mistake already. All I heard for a week was, you must be rich to drive a M3. My response was, I work hard and like to play just as hard. No regrets. Life goes on. Most people that knows me, knows my passion. You can,t change who you are. And if you think you are going to judged by what you drive, it,s true you will. But you will also be judged by a lot more other things that really doesn't,t matter like your home, clothes, wife,s wedding ring and where you attended college etc. My advice, accept it. Life is not fare. Go drive that M3 and get over it,

Daily driver when going to the office...no comments unless someone knows what it is, 90% of the world sees a 3 series and nothing special. I rent cars for work travel which is sadly most weeks...

I drive it to work everyday and it attracts attention because it's a "BMW".

It could be some old BMW but if it looks expensive, then it will attract attention because of the badge. It would be the same thing if it was sporting a Merc badge.

I worried about it enough that I was concerned about buying my first BMW. But I finally said, "Screw it" because I like to drive too much. I am also known as a modest person at work so I think that helps.

Drive it to work every day. It is definitely not the most expensive car in the garage so fortunate to not have to deal with too much attention. Definitely got a few questions when I first got it though. Can't imagine not getting that 30 mins of ripping home after a long long day...

I enjoy my 9-mile suburban-urban commute every day. I could not stand to drive a commuter car. I do have a designated reserved indoor parking spot. People I work with know I like cars, and while I don't flaunt it, others do it for me. I've given a few coworkers good rides to job sites!

I drive mine pretty much every day and I get nothing but positive attention wherever I go. I'm sure I get haters for whatever insecure reason they might have saying things without my knowledge but whatever.

It's also not crazy expensive (e.g., not like an exotic) and while prices have come up quite a bit since the E36 version, I don't think the M3 has a reputation for being that expensive even for those who know what it is.

I've given this topic a bit of thought because I drive my M3 to work specifically because I am concerned about the image of driving my Porsches to work (which I avoid doing). But with the M3, I am pretty comfortable.
I disargree. I drive my car everywhere. dont think to much bout it. Cmon why would you buy and drive this piece of work if you are worried about being able to eyeball it every minute and protect it? If your car is that special you should park it. Warehouse it. Preserve it. I say as long as they cant touch the internals then you should drive the thing, Paint wears out. Our motors with diligent care will not.

Drive it to work everyday, and take the farthest spot in the lot.

Sucks during winter haha

I drive it to work every day during the summer; no issues. In fact, I get lots of compliments and curious people who want to check under the hood to find out what's making all that noise.

If the OP is where his location says, which is Taipei, then save yourself the trouble and leave the M3 in the underground garage and drive something less flashy. Asian office culture is completely differently than over here.

I'd drive mine to work everyday if I could. All my coworkers know I have an M3, on fact one of them wanted to come and check it out after work. My commute is 130mls each way and I do that 3-4 times/week so I drive a GTI to work coz I don't wanna depreciate the M3 on the highway. It sucks looking at it everyday in garage while leaving to work then drive the GTI instead. But It's like my treat when I get back home and drive it plus I drive it a lot over the weekends.

I drive to work and it definitely got a lot of attention when I first got it. Everyone was busting my balls, saying I must have had a big raise. For the most part they were all happy for me, just the usual ball busting, but I know a few people are jealous.

At the end of the day, haters can hate. I have busted my ass over the years with my education and career to be at a point where I could get the car I always wanted. I intend to enjoy it as much as possible...
