Let the cosmetic modding begin!!

FedEx just dropped off my much awaited package. Special thanks to Nick @ Jlevisw who is always a pleasure to deal with and is the most helpful guy around.

I want to paint the grill and side gill to match the shadow line trim, does anyone know what paint colour or code to use?

Cheers!

Let me know if the LED kit works for you, if not...you will have to go and see DAVE to make the map lights work!

On some E90s it works, and on some it doesn't.

I bet they are smoked. Nice start. That will clean it up nicely.

Ohh true...could be!
I prefer the look of color matched.
Mine will be all gone in a month or so...

The reflectors are smoked. I tossed and turned when trying to decide which one to go with and finally decided on smoked.

Anyone know which paint code to use for the grills and gills?

I sent my grills to iND to be painted. Excellent price and quick turnaround.

That's a crappy LED kit. It's not bright at all. Get the real deal. Also, the map lights will turn off by itself after 30 seconds.

What's the "real deal" LED kit?

Hey SlammedM3, is the kit bright in your car? Brighter than stock at least?

I wouldn't say that at all, My LED kit is awesome, much brighter and nicer then stock. and the map lights (with the stock bulbs) don't turn off after 30 seconds. SOME M3s with the LED map lights will turn after the ignition is turned ON, after about 15-20 seconds. And this is because the car isnt meant for it, so the only way to fix this is by adding 2 wires to the map lights circuit board and putting the original bulbs back on the circuit, tricking the car into thinking it is powering those bulbs.(while they are tucked away somewhere in the roof) and the LED (nice n bright) stay on this way.

Thats how my guy, Dave, did it for me. But not ALL M3s have this problem, it only happens in some where they turn off after 15-20 seconds while ignition is ON. IF ignition is OFF, they dont turn after 15-20 seconds.

Thanks for your pictures Peter, your car looks sweet. I agree, the smoked looks really good on the Space Grey. I installed them last night and I'm happy with the mean look of the smoked reflectors. I will post pics when all the mods are complete.

I need some advise guys, should I paint my matte black grill and gill Jet black or should I leave it matte?

Leave them matte! Looks much better that way. Peter, your car looks great too. Mine looked like that before the crash. Now there won't be any reflectors at all!

yeah, people like them or hate them. there's no middle ground. i like this look for now. eventually, i'll be ordering the euro bumper to solve the "problem" the right way. i personally think color-matched reflectors looks the worst.
