BMW Genuine Performance CF Mirror Cap or another brand
I want the CF Mirror Caps for my E90 Sedan and I really like the BMW Performance CF Mirror Cap but at $589 I can't justify the cost. I could get a used Dinan Intake for that much! I have seen other brands that are around $200
What do you guys think? Will the $200 CF mirrors caps from AutoTecknic be any good and wont fade? Let me know what you guys would do. |

Personally I'd go BMW brand and not risk having fitting issues or other quality issues. Ask around to some of the sponsors on the forum, I'm sure you can get a better deal than $589. I have em on my mirrors... kind of pulls together the CF spoiler and eventually my CF lip.

I have the autotechnic carbon replacement mirrors. Fitment is fine/good. But the CF quality is not so great. The resin started to haze, the weave has some variations, and the crease where the mirror cap apex is is actually rippled. I had them refinised and recleared, but they still aren't perfect.
I'd recommend OEM or IND's 4K caps. |

The only thing I'd skimp on are the front splitters. These get beat up, so to me it made no sense to pay that much money on something that would need to be replaced somewhat regularly (IMHO). Everything else, go OEM, especially the spoiler. That's in an area that everyone can see, so fit and finish is the most important.

I chose to get OEM carbon exterior parts except the front splitters. Great choice as I let an uncle drive the car and less than a minute into the drive, he scratched the front of the car leaving the driveway.. |

$589 seems high. I'm sure you can find oem cheaper.

I have OEM splitters, mirrors, and spoiler on my E90. All fit well and look great. Wish they made an OEM diffuser. Ended up ordering a Revinora. Still waiting for it and will post pics when installed.

i paid $512.00 including CA sales tax + shipping and handling
BMWpartspro.com (Jon) edit: I was on the same boat and couldnt justify spending 500+ on a pair of CF covers. Ordered 2 ebay fakes and had to return both of them. Shipping them back was a waste of time. Gave up and went OEM and never looked back |

Sweet $512 seems more doable. I might check out that site. Thanks!

I have front lip spoiler replica from eBay. Same as OEM. Perfect quality and fitment. The rear deck spoiler is OEM BMW Performance. If I were to get the mirrors, I would get the OEM BMW Perf.

Does the replica fade? I was looking at a akrymn front lip but too expensive if I hit the curb.

I would get any replica part recleared by a reputable refinisher. Most Replica Carbon parts ship the parts with just polished resin. You'll want something protecting the finish to keep them from fading.
