Second home in Miami

The wife an I are throwing around the idea of getting a second place in the Miami beach area in about a year. For all of you that live down there, what areas would you recommend? The requirement would be walking distance to the beach, probably looking for a 2 bedroom condo. Would like to hear some honest opinions before realtor opinions.
Thanks

It all depends on your budget. But If you're looking for walking distance to the beach, you're most likely going to end up in an apartment. Probably North Miami Beach and not south beach, since that's where most condo's and nice apartments are. Sunny Isles is a pretty nice area. There's new Trump Towers there, and most constructions there are top notch. I would definitely check it out.

agree with you on this i feel that sunny isles area not that its not very nice but i think its going to blow up even more.

But like zamm3k said what are you looking for, budget is a huge thing. I just bought a condo for a very reasonable price. however i look over downtown and south beach i don't live their. If you are looking for an investment property its also another thing.

If you pm me details about a little more of what you are looking into i think i can help more.

You should look at Key Biscayne. OceanClub, Ritz residences, etc. I'll sell you a house in coconut Grove if you want ;-)

You should try to find out condos near to Miami beach because one of my friend lives there in a reasonable price. You need only 2 bedroom condos and won't have to pay much for this.

on southbeach it can be hard as the buildings are very old and aren't maintained so often.

try the flamingo...., alot of eye candy in that building let me tell you.

I would try brickell, downtown, and sunny isles.

theres nothing wrong with sunny isles, but like others have said, it all depends on your budget.

If you want a house on the water, you will have to go north of Miami

You need to give us more information. Budget? Quiet or Loud? Young, club south beach or old? Amenities required or wanted? You can pretty much find whatever you are looking for.

Dcgolfdr,

Greetings! My wife and I live on Miami Beach since 2004. What a great place. Not a single regret! You need to have a good, honest realtor that is really familiar with the market to find a good deal. We have two houses in North Beach. Both on the water. Good area with reasonable prices.

If you need help, my wife is a realtor with EWM/Christies in Miami Beach. She does not charge a penny to represent a buyer and can do all the searching for them. Plus, you'll get extra attention from a fellow member! If you want her contact info, drop me a note. Meanwhile, her website is www.southbeachome.com

Cheers!

For the second home in Miami Beach, you should move to North Miami because that area is a very pleasant area. It is at walking distance from the beach and the condos are easily available on reasonable price in that area.
