2009 335i dct to 2007 m3 6spd manual
Hi Guys,
I've noticed 2007 E92 M3's manual dropping considerably.. Would it be worth selling a 2009 335i n54 dct, with comfort access, bi xenons, Bluetooth, newer idrive etc etc for a 2007 m3 manual? Your opinions would be interesting to hear.. Thanks |

I agree, once you have had the new iDrive it would be hard to go back.
Wait a year or two and pick up a 2010+ M3 - they will start coming down in price in anticipation of the new one. |

Who gives an F- about idrive? Even the "old" one is better than any other vehicle manufacturer's system. If it's got low km's, in great condition and a good price, and you're happy with an older car, then it's probably a good move. M3>335
I don't think the 8cyl M3 will depreciate quite as hard as people think with BMW now moving towards smaller engines |

I've had an '08 with 45k kms for 4 months now, with no issues.
Given the P.O.S. I came from even the 'old' I-Drive is a novel gadget for me. I've sat in a newer one, and the new I-Drive is but a minor improvement for me. D |

Cars will always depreciate unless they are desirable cars in limited numbers. I think the I-drive debate is rubbish, old v new is minor. Mine is old, my brother has the new version and there is not that much difference. Go for what you can afford, 07, 09, 11, it all depends on what you can afford. The new model is still at least 2 years away but I don't feel it will impact the resale value on the V8 much as this series will become a true classic as they will be the last of the naturally aspirated versions!

Are you guys kidding about the new idrive not being much of an improvement?!?
The old iDrive is sooo slow and frustrating, not to mention the lack of shortcut buttons to get anywhere! The navigation is, laggy because it is shitty old DVD The new iDrive not only has a much better screen that doesnt look like a Super Nintendo, it is all Hard Disk maps and music. Fast loading maps, fast loading menus and so easy to get straight to ur nav or music or telephone thanks to the shortcut buttons. Graphics look great, screen is wide and bright. No doubt though that old nav is better then no nav. But the difference between the new and old is day and night! Im not saying the old iDrive is unusable, but have any of you guys gone back and used an iPhone 3G since you've had your iPhone 4........???? |

pick the IT guy
It's just a nav/music player brah! Stick a usb in, press some buttons and shit. You shouldn't need the nav often, there's a kebab shop on every corner down in melbourne!! |

I've seen 2007 cars with as much as 75k km but having said that mine, deliverede in Nov '07 just ticked over 30k km. I like to believe
I am one of those purists, and both my /// cars E46 and E92 have been manual. Very rewarding to drive because the driver-car engagement. That's me. I've got nothing against DCT cars or people who drive them. It's a personal preference. Good luck with whatever you choose. I swapped my idrive for a latter multiple button one. Works perfectly. The screen and DVD based sat-nav still remains. My wife's 2011 X3 has the new idrive but I am happy with the '07 idrive. When you're in an /// car everything pale away when you enjoy the v8 and the driving thrill the car provides. It's an an absolute joy to drive this ///3. Yes, you look for the latest in everything but once in the car the rest is a blur.
