Akrapovic - my thoughts

I've had my Akrapovic Evolution system with the deleter module on for a week now. First of all, this is the first aftermarket exhaust I have owned so take my comments for what they are worth.

This system is definitely louder than stock. At first I was concerned it was more than I wanted, but I am used to it now. Definitely more exciting, especially when you get into the higher rev range. I was at the track last week. A fellow forum member was to check out the exhaust. He said the other e9x M3 was silent coming down the straight in comparison with the Akra.

What really excites me is the added power. I know the point at the straight where I normally hit 140mph and I couldn't believe how much earlier this was occuring. It is something I felt and could acutally verify!

My only dissappointment is that the tips bronze. This is really not the look I was anticipating. I guess I'll get used to it or buy polished or powercoated tips at some point in the future.

Thanks to Julius at Wheelsto with his help with both my exhaust and brakes.

yep it is a lot louder than I expected based on reviews from other members.... but it's definitely not obnoxious loud. I really like the sound of mine.

Hey dawg, I would love to see and hear your exhaust, maybe I'll have to come up to a club event in Seattle to see it. Couple of questions:

- Do you anticipate any problems passing DEQ (or Washington equivalent smog inspection)?

- Lower RPM range do you hear a difference inside the car, and do you like it?

-Any push back from your installer with touching the cats? - I assume not, but thought I would ask.

- Your best mod to date?

Top notch exhaust... i race drew when i was stock and he was N/A modded...and he killed me maybe 7 car length...then raced him after i put on the akra exhaust and was around 3 car length. The power gain is very noticable

No problem with inspections as my main residence is on Whidbey island. All my cars are licensed there and no inspection required.

You do hear a difference inside the car. A slight droan. At first it bothered me but from what I understand it is minimal compared to louder exhausts. I am now used to it. Certainly not a deal breaker.

Installed at Group 2 Motorsports in Seattle. Great shop that does suspension, brakes, exhausts, or whatever.

Have to look into the meet. I work until noon but after that I'm free. Really want to see your spoiler and splitters again. Your car is so nicely put together.

I initially had just the slip on, loved it. I added the midpipe and thought it might be a touch loud for me too down low, but now I love it. It really does quiet down when you are cruising and not obtrusive.

Do you smell any fumes with yours?
