I don't think it's alcantara since it's suppose to be half leather & cloth (nylon or cotton).

I personally think the interior is boring and non-descript and adding leather makes things worse. Cloth will be rare, different, and more interesting.

B/c it plants/grips you better in the seat especially on the track when turning. Now if the whole seat was fabric then I'd pass and/or the fabric is cheap a$$ nylon like in the e46 M3.

I'm not so sure about that... the leather in my 330xi grips like velcro!

I had the cloth alcantara in my 03 330zhp - I loved it!

How come this cloth combo isn't available when you build a car at BMWUSA? It lists it as standard, but you can't unselect the leather option for $950.

On a side note - 1st post here! Hopefully will get good info on the M3 sedan.

Yes, I'm sure about that & I've seat in a 3-series recently driving it as well. Besides, I never said all-leather seats didn't plant/grip good. I said the cloth/leather seats are better at it.

BMWUSA's still having issues w/their website. You can't even select M-DCT on their website yet.

EDIT: Looks like I was wrong...M-DCT is finally on the "build your own" part of their website now (still no cloth/leather option though). It wasn't there the other day when I checked.

yup, alcantara is a fake suede. The seats I had were cloth and alcantara. The bolsters were alcantara and the center sections were all cloth. In my option, the nicest seats to ever be in a BMW.
