$85k for a non-ZCP E92... Wow. I paid like $21k less than that for a fully loaded ZCP 2 months ago.

Yeah, I saw these cars in the showroom. Very overpriced. I guess if you must have a special frozen M3, these are a few of the last. I would never pay $15k for paint on top of the regular sticker price.

Here is the sticker on one of them.

Me neither. $15k can get you a whole lot of good performance parts. Man, it can even get Supercharged with change to spare!

I think the $15k for the frozen edition includes the comp and premium packages, which are close to half the cost of the edition premium.

True, plus interior stitching. My local dealer has a frozen blue that just arrived. MSRP is around $84k but I didn't take a picture of the sticker.

The frozen blue is beautiful but I don't have a garage so having the matte paint parked outside in the New Orleans weather is a deal breaker for me. But I thought about it!

Again, though, it's not $15k for paint. It's $15k for paint, lots of blacked out performance parts, Individual interior stitching to match the paint color, ZCP, ZPP, etc.

It's a package, not just merely exterior paint.

(But yes, agreed that it's a bit hefty.)

15k is still to steep for the paint and accessories. IMO 7.5k would be a "fair" price. But hey, since when is fair the dominant factor in car sales. People pay, so BMW will sell, and rightly so.

I don't know anyone who paid that much for their frozen... ~$80K is the going rate, and lease terms are pretty good (for those so inclined).

+1

I've never had a good experience with BMW of SF. And the premium they're tacking on here just exhibits the attitude and philosophy they have.

Can't blame BMW for this, they know someone will pay for it. I'd do the same thing.

Actually, you can't blame BMW at all. It's BMW of San Francisco who's to blame for the massive markup.

You can blame BMW for the option cost for Individual paint, though. I do agree that it's a bit hefty (but still mostly on par with other manufacturer's "special" paint pricing).
