must decide today
Looking for unbiased opinion. I know this is a bmw forum. I've always wanted an m3 and now an in the position to get one, but am tossed between a few cars.
08' e92 lemans blue/gray 6 speed nav premium cf roof, etc. 13,xxx miles 08' e93 jet black/fox red 6 speed nav premium etc doesnt have 19" wheels only diff i noticed. 17,xxx miles 09' audi S5 22,xxx miles tiptronic nav, premium etc. prices aside which car to choose for my DD. So far the audi has the back seats that go down and seemed to be slightly more comfortable. Never considered this car but now that i saw it at sat in it im questioning. I know its up to me in the end just looking for some outside opinion maybe there is something i have not taken into account. I have not driven the s5. Thanks ! |

M3 backseats are comfortable as well. Drive the S5, you'll see that it's not even a comparison to an M3.

First off, M3 over S5 any day of the week. The S5 is bloated and underpowered. Second, I would never choose grey leather interior. Lastly, I would not choose a convertible. And that is why none of your choices work for me. I fully support you getting a used E90 or E92 M3 though!

I don't understand why everyone compares the S5 to the m3...these are TOTALLY different cars. The s5 is in a 335i comparison.
Go with the blue coupe. Best option

The Blue Coupe is the way to go although these 3 cars should all be priced quite a bit differently, so it seems like you really don't know what you want if you are posting on the forum with these 3 cars. You say you have always wanted an M3 yet you listed an S5. The difference between a coupe and a vert is also a big difference.

Im not necessarily set on these 3 cars. I love both the e93 and e92. This is just what i saw at the auction. The m's don't usually come up often and today just happen to be a good day i suppose. I was not fond of the gray to begin with either, but it shows a nice contrast with the lemans. Thanks for the opinions guys appreciate it. O and side note any idea if Top gear is filming in miami. saw a Top gear truck on 95. Wonder what was inside ? Last edited by 01'325rip; 12-14-2010 at 04:45 PM.. |

No gray interiors. If you are going to track it get the coupe if not get the convert. The convert is a lot heavier but if you're not going to track it, get the e93 and enjoy a convertible. I'm guessing the e93 are a bit cheaper and tend to have fewer miles as they are less often a daily driver.

as stated...if you plan to track/race a lot, then the e92 may be best
if you don't plan to track at all, or very rarely, than the vert drop top is enjoyable, fun, and sexy. but the added weight is noticeable

E93 vert, unless you're tracking it. You live in prime vert territory! Take advantage of it.
