Im glad they offered this car with a PDK, with that option I now think a GT3 would be much more desirable than a Turbo because of the RWD. If you guys don't want to give it a shot because there isn't a manual tranny, works for me. Just means 10 years from now when I want one to buy a used model, it'll be cheap!

I'm siding with the engineer here. The only reason to want or need a manual transmission at this point is because you like operating a clutch. There isn't any added control over this PDK, especially with the clutch kick feature being added. If this provides instant shifts on command, runs into the redline without auto-upshifting, and allows you to disengage the clutch when you please, then there's literally nothing that a traditional manual has over this except an added pedal to make you feel "more involved and connected."

If this tranny is anything feeling wise like the SMG in my 2009 M5, but with the added feature of the "donut mode" and faster shifts then this will be epic!
I hate the smooth mute feel of Dual clutch units, the raw feeling of having a SMG type tranny is so pure, fun, consistent. You get the quickness/consistency of a computer and fun driving experience of a manual without the third pedal.

This is my next car, in guards red. Hopefully with a manual.

Pretty sure no manual will be offered. Where did you get your info?
