White stitching on Carbon Leather

Saw a fellow forum member post on the same topic recently, and thought I'd give it a try. Although I purchased nylon thread in all the colors of the ///M rainbow, I felt white was the best match for my 'OEM +' preference. Took about four hours over the course of three or so days. Happy with the result...

Did you replace the original stitching or just loop the white around the black?

I would like to know the process as well, a loop around, or stitch replacement.

Second, do you have some sort of bubbling/ defect in your carbon trim over your driver's AC vent in the middle, or are my eyes messed up?

LoL....Really? I think it's quite tasteful and pretty damn subtle.

OP has to be commended for taking this on himself...nice job!
From what I can see in the photos, it looks pretty legit, too.

I ordered mine from BMW Individual with light grey contrast stitching in 2013. For reference, this is how it looks from the factory:

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking the lighting of the picture is playing tricks on your eyes. Carbon leather is in as-new shape.

Regarding the technique I used, here's a link: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=938914

Finally, if anyone needs red or blue - I purchased thread in all the color of the M rainbow, but decided to stay with white.
