Anyone up for an early morning run?

June 15th (weather permitting) in western MA and southern VT. Will be starting at around 4:30 am. Yes, you read correctly. (for obvious reasons). I do this on my own, but if a few people want to join in, it may be fun. Do keep in mind that this is not a track. These are public roads, so we must drive accordingly. PM me if you are interested.

German car day is the following day. I can never go because it is always on Father's Day and I spend time with my daughters doing whatever they want to do with me.

I am up for it, 4:30am though? I understand your logic but some daylight visibility is needed for deers. I have seen a few during my drive this early morning.

A 4:30 start means that we would get to the good driving roads by a little after 5. I actually think the deer are out a little later, like around 7-7:30. Should be done by then. . But I am happy to push it back to get a small group together, or to be as safe as we can.

My car should be delivered to the dealer this week. If I have it prior to the 15th, I may be interested in a early morning drive. Stay tuned.

Also, 4:30/5:00 is perfect for us convertible drivers.

Not too hot, sun not too high in the sky, cool crispy breeze.

Weather is supposed to be great too.

Okay...looks like we will have a nice small group which is perfect. I will put together the route and post a meeting point. Usually the drive itself will be about 2-2.5 hours from the meeting point. If you can confirm whether or not you are coming, I can PM you the route once I have finalized it.

Lucky, I have always been against convertibles because of the handling and additional weight (although we owned an e93) but the truth is, if you are not tracking it, you enjoy it more in these kind of drives.

I will not be able to attend as I will not be taking delivery until 6/15 (after 5am). Perhaps next time.

Would you prefer to go at 8 when there are other cars and trucks on the road and people are starting to move about? The early time is chosen to ensure that roads will be as empty as possible. We have a nice small group going. Just get up early, bite the bullet and come along!!!!

It is early, but avoiding any traffic is worth it. Bear mountain runs are mostly that early.

Simply epic. Last 3 mile stretch was like being on a roller coaster plus the ripping exhaust note !! Can't wait to do it again !!

And the scenery....

.......somewhere near the MA/VT border

I'd drive out there from the north shore.

Thinking about 7/28. I am also planning on going to Herb Chambers Cars & Coffee on 7/13. There are actually a whole bunch of meets/events next weekend.
