Do you have helmholtz chambers? From what I have read, every exhaust made for the M3 minus BMW exhaust and maybe Supersprint, drone to an extent. As for me, after putting over 700 miles on my magnaflow set up with the helmholtz chambers, the drone is not there. Getting my test pipes put on and a tune with it soon so I hope to have it sound even better.

That looks pretty good (design wise)! The canister alignment is off though, left to right and the angle.

Yeah from a picture? You can't see that the left canister is too far left and the right canister is crooked?

Do you go around looking for ways to be a douche bag?

WOW! watch your mouth, you sound like a punk.

I was just inferring that you are hypercritical just by viewing a picture. Rather than, "Looks Good!", it's "looks good, but its' crooked" ...not to mention you are looking at a 2d picture at a weird angle.

Who cares, just leave it at that.

That looks really good! Vaguely similar to mine Quick question though--how did he get the outside tips to shorten? Did he cut the tubing holding the tip on and then moved it down? Or are they adjustable? Was told to do this to enhance the look of it.

Yes they do! I have these paired up with the Turner Test Pipes and a custom made X pipe with 4 resonators...I absolutely LOVE the sound and the compliments I receive!

I like the branch resonantors..never seen them on e9x M3.

That is the proper way to tune out drone.

Yes, I think I started a revolution. 1300 miles later, the exhaust sounds so mellow with virtually no drone at cruising speeds. Win.

Exhaust looks great and well thoughtout!

I agree with m3an though..

Canisters are a bit off though from the picture. The left canister and its left to right orientation of the tips from their position in the diffuser and the right canister looks crooked from the bracing bar behind it and its orientation left to right.

Just a little tweaking though.. what a bargain for solid muffler setup.
Magnaflow muffler/tip setupt look great as well!

I believe it.

The Nissan 350-370 crowd have been running them for years and they have a few aftermarket applications tailored with branch resonators.

I am not sure why a tuner hasnt stepped up to produce these for our cars. Something designed with carefully calculated sizes and lenghts (no offense to your math skills )

Folks seem intent on welding straight through resonators in the Xpipe but branch resonators in the rear section is what really eliminates drone.

Youre absolutely right--I had a nismo 350z with the HKS exhaust. That had helmholtz chambers on the canisters, too. Worked very well.

Yeah, resonators will just make the drone sound more bassy and will be heard. Only masking something that is still there. The chambers in the rear is where the fix is.

The Active Autowerke exhaust for the E9X M3 has Heimholtz chambers.

This is correct--I used this exhaust as an example to kind of "model" mine off of it.
