Since many people I talked to raved about it, I decided to try out Sonax PNS on my wife's car. While the protection seems to be excellent, I'm not thrilled about the look. I don't think I'll be using this on my car.

I find Blackfire Wet Diamond and Collinite 845 to be the best. The collinite might be a little bit better.

Too dull? Kind of hard to tell because it's somewhat overcast in that picture.

Not too dull but the depth of the gloss is just not there. It looks similar to other sealants I've used like Menzerna Powerlock.

Ok maybe I'm a detailing n00b but can you guys really tell the difference in the "look" with the different sealants vs wax?

Some waxes can really make your paint look wet. For me personally all waxes/sealants/coatings offer a good look so I just go after protection as primary priority

I personally have OptiCoat on my car now.
How do you like the opti coat? A friend of mine owns a tint shop and said they have a detailer that does opti coating. He was raving about it. Im wondering if the hype is real? Is this a good product?

Ive contacted my buddy for a price quote but haven't heard back from him. If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost of the entire process?

Depends on the level of paint correction you want and what your detailer generally charges per hour
